Not what it used to be
Originally this app had written lessons that taught you practical ways to start speaking tagalog (or Taglish). This made a real difference, which provided a reference point if I needed to remind myself of any grammar points, and accelerated my speaking skills. Now it appears these guys have jumped on to the AI bandwagon with the AI generated content not teaching any Taglish at all while at the same time giving very limited access, all for a rip-off price - it would be cheaper speaking to an actual Filipino. This new version of the app is terribly disappointing, and I would prefer the older style lessons back, even if they publish it on their website.

Used to be great, now it’s AI slop
Just how another review mentioned; This used to be a great app with handwritten lessons! They were split up into categories and even provided helpful notes that included important context. It was a perfect cheat sheet for travelers, or Filipino-Americans that were familiar with some words, but never knew how to speak the language. Now it just uses generative AI prompting. There’s no soul, and no important notes or explanations that help with the dialogue aspect. I’m disappointed and disgusted!

This app has been RUINED recently…
This app used to have hand-curated lessons, split into categories. Not the prettiest UI, but the content and writing felt sincere and was super helpful.
I recently opened the app again, only to find out that all my lessons have been deleted, and all that remains is an AI chatbot that lets you ask 3 questions for free before requiring you to pay an insane amount. I hit ‘restore purchases’ and it returned nothing to me - they LITERALLY deleted everything I had access to before and gave us a chatGPT wrapper you can only use for 3 prompts.
Stay away from this app, all previous reviews are unrelated. You may as well just use chatGPT for free…
Disappointing, garbage, greedy move.

Can no longer access purchased lessons/restore purchases.
I bought this app a few months back and now they’ve updated and I’ve lost all access to my previous subscription.
Love this app!!!!
I grew up listening to Tagalog spoken between my relatives however the language was never explained or taught to me. This has revolutionized the way I speak, absorb and understand Tagalog. I have never learned the beginnings of a language faster!
Immediately useful
I spent months on a different app and barely learned how to say “I drink milk”. I’m using what I learned from lesson one daily with my Filipina spouse. She’s impressed!
carelessly, sloppily put-together and riddled with errors
Anong tagalog ng "refund"? Convinced that the creators threw this app together in a hurry and never bothered to actually read the thing. The concept was promising and kudos for attempting to help provide a service that is severely lacking in the world, but it's almost like you guys just put it out and started collecting people's money without bothering to actually finish the thing first. Don't believe me? Go try to read through the "kaka - pa lang" lesson, learning it's rules as they're explained, and then take the quiz. Tell me how it goes. Just one of the many paid sections that are absolutely lousy with egregious mistakes, typos, omissions, and WRONG INFORMATION that doesn't match what you explain in the lesson. I mag-wa-want my $20 back.

The only app that helped me understand sentence structure
Apps like duolingo don’t have Tagalog, and other ones only help with vocabulary. I love this app cause it really helps understand sentence structure and how to make your own sentences, not just remember phrases
I like how well explained this is
I am learning Tagalog to be able to speak to my husband and kids in the future also I want to understand the language. This has helped me a lot more than other apps. I recommend!
Really good 👍🏻
After a some technical issues the app is better than ever
Best Beginner Tagalog App!
I’ve looked into a lot of Tagalog resources, and this one is the best one yet. The lessons are short, and it’s helped me learn the grammar far more quickly than some of the other apps and programs I’ve bought and studied with.
Some audio examples in the later lessons don’t work, but other than that this app is an amazing resource.

Bug?
Hey, I've had this app for a few months and it's beat learning app for me so far, however I went on a little break and came back to find all the lessons to be bugged. By that I mean all these links appear after each learning word or url. It now also doesn't allow me to scroll down all the way to the bottom of the lessons, it keeps loading, glitching then it brings me back up again. Please fix this 😩

Such a great app
I find it silly but in a “this app has a great approach” they teach you mostly taglish and the structures of the language.
Does not match
English questions do not match with tagalog answers for example i got a question wrong about a cup of coffee, of is ng and when i selected the option for ng in the sentence it said the correct answer had no ng, the maker of this app is not good
Don’t waste your time
This app I downloaded it then I could never get it to work at all . Don’t waste your time with it .
Taglish
Mag-Taglish tayo!
Great!!
Love this app its very descriptive and I can learn very very fast and easily. But there are only 10 free lessons and you’d have to pay for the rest. It was unlocked even when I didn’t pay. But it was totally worth it and now I can have easy conversations with my Lola in Tagalog!
Amazing app
Im so glad i found this app. Many apps give practice but dont explain grammar so you don’t actually know what you're doing. This app explains everything so simply and it’s actually fun and rewarding.
