Great Reading Tool

my 4 year old had a hard time remembering his alphabet but this app helped with not only memorization but with phonics also. I truly believe he will be reading on his own in no time! I couldn’t recommend this app more. If you are second guessing spending the money please don’t it is well worth it!!

Terrible

Lessons are so slow. The sliders don’t make any noise to help the child. Needs parent to input codes every 2 seconds. Wants you to listen to their useless 5 minute alphabet song every lesson

Child excited to learn

I love how it breaks down things in the lesson and really engages parent and child!

It’s working, but…

So I have tried a few reading programs and this one seems to be one of the better ones for my son who has been struggling with reading. Couple of things I don’t like is as a homeschool dad it would be nice to do more than one lesson a day. I get the idea to do just a little bit, but I also feel it keeps me locked into the program and caps his progress. Also the hungry cloud game is kinda twisted. You have letters with eyes playing on a playground and the cloud just straight up eats them. I’m not typically weird about that stuff, but that does seem twisted and not a game for kids.

The reveiw

This is great for kids 10 and under so they made it very axcesible and easy to use great

This app is amazing

I had my son familiar with the alphabet & sounds but we were struggling with reading with my teaching. I saw an ad for this app on Instagram & thought I’d try it out. We’re on lesson 70 something & my son is only 4 but can read, with confidence! It really is amazing seeing him pick up books & bring them to me, not to read to him but for him to read to me ❤️

I am so grateful for the creation of this app so I thought I’d leave my first review on it. I tell any parent I can just how helpful it is

Great simple reading app

This app is great! Everything I needed to help my son learn how to read is laid out in this simple app. Some days we complete the whole lesson, some days we take a break in between and read the book the next day. In just a few weeks he learned how to read at a rate that left me and his preschool teacher very impressed. This is my first child and I honestly didn’t even know where or how parents began to teach their kids how to read. I was feeling frustrated and defeated but for once an Instagram add came through that I took a leap of faith in and it turned to out to be better than what I expected. I’d tell everyone trying it out, have a little patience, sit with them while they do their lesson and you will not be disappointed.

Amazing program!

We cannot recommend Reading.com enough to other parents! This has laid such a great foundation for our four year-old!!

Only a few options

My son who is 5 can use this and even though he can’t read yet the games and learning are boring and slow. My older daughter wanted to use it to help with blending words but there is no options for ages 6,7,8+…. It’s just a purple screen.

How they should teach in school

As the parent of a child with special needs, I have spent a long time looking for something that would actually help him learn to read. His school has focused more on memorizing words than understanding how reading works, and that approach has not been effective for him.

Reading.com has given him the chance to learn reading in a way that makes sense. Instead of relying on memory, he is building the skills needed to read with understanding. It has been encouraging to see his confidence grow as he starts to figure words out on his own.

Every child learns differently, but this has been a positive experience for our family.

Love, love, love!!

We seriously loved everything about this! We started with this app when my son was four, and we finished all 99 lessons over the course of about a year. By the end, my five year old was a READER! Before he even started kindergarten, he was able to read full picture books with relative ease! My only complaint is that I wish there were more lessons that began removing some of the supports so that the kids could become accustomed to reading without them (lines above long vowels, arch connecting digraphs, etc.) Great program that I highly recommend as both a parent and an elementary school teacher!

Amazing!

My (just turned) 5 year old used this and is now reading at a 2nd + grade reading level before even stepping foot in kindergarten! Will be using for our son and any future babies. My nearly 2 year old son even knows some
of the letter sounds because of the phonics song! We LOVED this app.

Great!

My 6 year old struggled to read for years and as soon as she started the app she began to read well and enjoy it too

Decent. Glitches.

The app is fine but there are glitches. After reaching some levels, you can’t even scratch out the page to reveal the picture.

Great!

I really enjoyed the pace and the helping me help her learn to read. The only thing I would say is, I hope they would explain why letters made their own name more because now that she reads without the little clues it’s hard for her to know when the a is an a sound, but did wonders for her reading!!

Unable to slide letters

One of the big features is to slide letters and words to sound them out. However sliding the letters does not play the sound.

excellent app!

Jennifer and the team did an amazing job and our Ellietubb loved it! Your child will get through all the lessons and become a better reader. There will be times when you and your child don’t want to but push on through and be engaged with your child it is so worth it in the end.

Slow

It’s slow so kids get bored

Scam

I signed up for a free trial to see how this app would work for my daughter. I canceled my free trial BEFORE I was supposed to be charged and I was still charged $13. This app is not worth that. And they will not refund me my money.

User friendly

It’s been so great for teaching my daughter to read. She loves the app and so do I!
