Great as a phrasebook
If seeking a phrasebook, this is great! Look no further. Its especially good for using humans instead of AI which never gets pronunciation nor emphasis right.
However, if seeking an app to actually learn the language, I would start or use in conjunction with an app like DuoLingo so u may learn to read, write & form your own sentences. As far as a phrasebook goes though, this app is far superior and the best I’ve found so far.
Advice to developers: One of the voice actors is better than the other. The better of them speaks slowly & shows care in articulating each sound, while the other rattles through quickly, as though he is addressing a native speaker. One is actively trying to teach a student unfamiliar with Ukrainian, the other is simply reading sentences as though he’s chatting with other Ukrainians. Still doable but far less helpful to students. In a situation, I think most would just play the phrase for communication, rather than try to say it themselves (for phrases done by the actor Im critical of). Both indeed have their uses in but if the point is to learn to speak, 1 of them can offer both uses while the other merely replaces google translate.
I will encourage my partner to keep this app, along with DuoL.
