Poorly Designed

Font is tiny, everything is just completely outdated, not worth paying for in any way shape or form.

Wouldn’t let me view the flashcards

I’m taking Henle Latin and I wanted to use an app to help me remember the words in each lesson. I downloaded the app and chose the Henle option but it said I had to buy the Henle First Year book (which I already have) to look at the flashcards. I only can look at the sample flashcards and I have been doing everything to get the flashcards, but couldn’t.

Reverse review?

This is a great app idea and it looks like all of the previous reviewers’ complaints about the app have been resolved in the latest version.

There’s only one obvious thing that I still see missing: there is no way to review from English to Latin but only starting with the Latin. Can this be so, am I not seeing a toggle switch that actually exists? We do both kinds of reviewing from day one with the physical flash cards. It’s an important feature for the app to have.

As expected, 1 major suggestion

The font is so small I can’t hold the phone across the table and study with my kid.

Definitely helpful.

It is a good flash card app, it would be great if there was audio reading the cards to help with pronunciation. Even better if you could choose between Ecclesiastical and Classical pronunciation.

Good!

My kids are learning Latin and they love this app. You should definitely get it! Easy to use.

Wonderful resource for Memoria Press Latin Forms

This is a great tool for when you are on-the-go and trying to review without taking along a boxful of flash cards. We homeschool and use MP Latin forms. Once you get to Third-Form, you have literally a boxful of flash cards. No one wants to lug all that along. This app is a boon!

My suggestion would be to have at the end of the lessons all of the vocabulary from all lessons for end of year and post year reviewing. I would appreciate having this as a review for when my student has moved onto the next form but still needing to keep their review up.

Meh…

I mean, it’s okay but everything costs money to unlock!! You can only get a few samples that are not helpful at all. Not only that, it does not seem much like a hands-on experience, which people learn better from, and more of a boring and unfun way to learn.

No Family Sharing????

The title says it all. What a rip off. I don’t see that anywhere in the description of the app. The primary reason I bought this ON MY PHONE was to share with my daughter on her iPod . Now I’m out $15. I didn’t even realize there were still apps this archaic. Please fix this. I’m off to get a refund.

Response from developer

We are sorry that you were mislead that our app supports family sharing. We are actively working on enabling this for all of our users and will be available soon. **Update - we now support family sharing.

Too many problems, very disappointing

Too many problems with this app:

1. This app will not work with my ipad after I download it.
2. I wanted to use “family sharing” so that my kids could use it too. But that will not work either.
3. It requires live connection to the internet.

As far as I’ve found, none of these items are disclosed in the description. The developers surely know that their customers desire these features.

I intend to request a refund for this sub-par app.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback but we are sorry to hear you have found our app disappointing. What kind of issues are you having with your iPad? Family sharing is something we have been looking to enable but currently that does not work with our app. Our primary target for our app are always-connected devices but we are looking into making our app support offline usage. We will update our Store description to better describe this, thanks again for your valuable feedback. **Update - we now support Family Sharing. **Update - we now support using our app without a live connection to the internet.

No upper levels for Memoria Press

Was excited about this app, but it’s not available for kindle and my kids are in second and third form, which aren’t on there. Bummer! This looked awesome.

Response from developer

Thank you for your rating and review. We are working on getting all of the upper-levels available very soon.

GREAT APP VERY MUCH RECOMMEND BETTER THEN ALL OTHERS TRUST ME IVE TRIED THEM ALL

AMAZING PLEASE ADD FUN WAYS TO LEARN THE LATIN

Wi-Fi

Why in the world does this app need to be connected to Wi-Fi to work? It’s the most simple thing, basically flash cards for Latin. Completely stupid and doesn’t help us when we need to be on the go doing homeschool.

Response from developer

Thank you for your rating and review. We are sorry you are not fully satisfied with our product. Our primary device target for our flashcard app is the phone and because those are almost always connected that was not a concern of ours. We do hear your concern and will take it into consideration when we continue to develop for devices that may not always be connected. **Update: we now support using our app offline

Not IOS 14 compatible

Doesn’t work at all on IOS 14.

Response from developer

Sorry you are having problems with our app on iOS 14. We have seen our app run successfully on iOS 14 but want to troubleshoot this with you. Can you please send an email to kilobytegroup+LatinSupport@gmail.com so we can get in touch and work to resolve the issue? Edit: We have found an issue with iPhone devices (Xs and newer) that are running iOS 14. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as we can. Update: We have released an update for our app (1.1.8) that is iOS 14 compatible. Sorry for the inconvenience, we hope you enjoy learning Latin vocabulary with our app!

A good start

Since students need to memorize GNC with nouns, that would be super helpful on the vocabulary. Ability to shuffle, as well. I haven’t gotten to verbs yet, but if the corresponding info is missing on those cards (info necessary for declining), my feedback would be the same.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review! We value our users' feedback and will take your suggestions into consideration for future updates.

Very good.

This is a very good app.

Waste of money

This app only provides basic flash cards which are freely available other places including quizlett. I was very disappointed and can’t believe the price I paid.

Response from developer

We are very sorry that you were not pleased with your purchase. The value our particular app provides is a simple way to learn Latin vocabulary with digital flash cards that are pre-loaded and ordered to follow along with popular text books. We did our best to word the description in such a way that clearly describes the function and content of this product. In addition, the app includes a free Book Sample so that users can see both how the app works and the type of content included before committing to the purchase of a book.

Helpful

These are nice flashcards but the pronunciation is needed.

Response from developer

Thank you for your rating and review! We always appreciate feedback. We will take your suggestion into consideration for future updates.

Simple but that’s good

Great simple app for reviewing Latin flashcards. The only thing that would improve the cards themselves is if the declension and gender were noted on the nouns (and conjugation for verbs) so that could be reviewed as well.

Also, in Henle 1st year, lesson 3 there seemed to be some extra flashcards that were not in the vocabulary lists in the book.

Edited to add a couple other suggestions. It would be great if you could “shuffle” the cards to review them within a lesson. And, if you could review (and shuffle) multiple lessons at once, of your own choosing. Or if you could select some cards as “mastered” so they did not appear in the review shuffle.

Response from developer

Thank you for your rating and review, we really appreciate the feedback. The improvements you mentioned are good suggestions and we will work to get them into an upcoming release as soon as possible. We will take a look at the extra flashcards you mentioned from First Year's Lesson 3 set and rectify any discrepancies we find. Again, thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, we believe this will help us make our product better. Edited in response to user's edit: Thanks again for your feedback, those are excellent suggestions. We will take those into consideration as we make plans to release new versions of our app.

Super simple

Easy to use and very helpful!
