About

LedgerMan keeps a company's books. This app is the part of that work done away from a desk. Photograph a bill the moment you have it. It goes to your company's server and waits to be filed against the bank line it belongs to - and if the date and the amount make the match obvious, the app offers that line straight away. WHAT IT DOES • Photograph a bill, crop it to the paper, and send it • Or choose one already on your phone: a screenshot of a payment, a PDF a supplier emailed • See the month's bank lines - what is classified, what still wants a receipt • File a bill against a line, and say how much of the line it covers when one payment carried two bills • Keep other paper against a line: a payment confirmation, the bank's advice, an agreement • Claim back what you paid personally - collect the bills, then send the claim for payment • See where the books stand: this month, this year, and what is waiting on somebody FOR INDIAN COMPANIES Amounts are written the way they are read here: 1,08,91,305.33, not 10,891,305.33. The financial year runs April to March. GST and TDS belong to the books rather than to a spreadsheet beside them. DOUBLE-ENTRY, KEPT PROPERLY Every entry balances. Nothing reaches the ledger without an account on both sides of it, and a line is not finished until the paperwork behind it is there. YOU WILL NEED AN ACCOUNT LedgerMan is used by companies, and your administrator creates your account - there is no sign-up in the app. Your books live on your own company's server.

Reimbursement claims are now something you can work through from the phone. • See what is in a claim - every bill with its date and amount, and the photograph opens over the claim rather than sending you to a browser. • Correct a bill, or take one out. What a photograph was read as is the thing most often wrong, and until now it could only be put right from a desk. • A claim no longer asks which expense account it is booked to. Somebody standing in a taxi rank knows it is travel and does not know which line of the chart travel is, so that question is now asked once, of whoever pays the claim. • A bill an administrator has rejected shows in the claim with the reason, instead of quietly disappearing. • Read the bill while you type. Tap the photograph on the review screen and it opens full size over the form, so copying the total no longer means leaving the screen. • Straighten a photograph while trimming it, in quarter turns or by a degree or two. Also: the dashboard's month can be changed, you can switch between companies, and settings - your password, the financial year, light and dark - live behind the gear.
