Best Latin Learning

The best Latin learning app and method! Please continue to provide content. If I could request, could you work on other languages too like Old English (Anglo-Saxon) or Koine Greek? Thank you!

Best Latin app

Legentibus is the best resource for learning Latin.

Best way to learn Latin

I’ve been wanting to learn Latin for the past year or so, but just never committed to it. This app makes it so incredibly easy and understanding and doesn’t give you stuff you’re never gonna use. The only complaint I have is that I wish there was an option where you could press a word and hear the pronunciation of that word alone (ex “et Dānuvius” being a little confusing on how exactly to say “Dānuvius”). Besides that, AMAZING app

Missing a key feature, but a good adjunct

In a world where Latin media is scarce, Legentibus provides. However though a course of progressive vocabulary is set, there’s no vocabulary lists. No post lesson summary.

Though Legentibus lists the number of words. It’s gives no breakdowns. There’s no list of the infinitive of what words and their cases were used.

No charts of what cases were use is given either.

Only Latin text, embedded dictionary, and a reader speaking. I will note here no differentiation has been made of classical or ecclesiastical.

If Legentibus gave a breakdown of what vocabulary was used. Then self study would be far easier.

In an ideal world, the breakdown would have an adjunct flashcard quiz. Even if of basic meaning it would be immensely helpful for those who consistently know 80% but need help with the last 20%.

Additionally being able to mark vocabulary as known or unknown would better help students. From there, books heavy in known or unknown vocabulary could be so marked. Allowing students to determine their challenge level themselves.

Critiques aside, Legentibus is off to an excellent start and I will continue with my subscription with hopes of growth.

Godsend

Everyone download this app and subscribe now. We’re bringing back Latin.

Comprehensive

I don’t think I’ve every left a review just because but I feel like I have to for this. This is genuinely the best language learning experience I’ve ever seen. It uses multiple venues of memorization so that the vocab, grammar, and pronunciation really locks into your brain. It’s also has a design that’s really easy to use. No popping open another tab to get the definition of a word you don’t know! Just click and it shows up. When reading the stories you can parse things out on your own while also having the level of assistance you need through vocab help or fully translating the sentence if you’re completely lost. Idk for me it makes it easy to review. I just feel like the way this app was made was with a lot of care and heart. From the clever interface to the stories picked I feel like everything was really poured over by their team. Plus no ai.

Absolutely amazing and underrated!

I understand that Latin is not necessarily as popular among young people as it was, let’s say, in 700 BC–600s AD in Rome, where they occasionally dabbled in it. But Ive recently grown interested in Ancient History and would love to learn Latin as someone who was starting from scratch.
This app is genuinely everything it says it is. I cant express how great it is to learn from people who are ACTUAL experts. I will always recommend this app. More than that, I will always recommend that people who are FULLY committed to learning a language download an app that specializes in it, rather than an app like Duolingo, where it isn’t the main focus.

This app is seriously amazing. I hope someday it gets all the attention it deserves. Until then, I will continue talking about it!

Daily joy

I love this is app. After 200 hours using this to learn latin, I can tell you I really enjoy reading in it every day. The stories are so well scaffolded that you really will learn just by reading and listening. Even if just 20 minutes a day. It feels so natural. One of my favorite daily habits. Wether I sit down to read or relisten to the audios versions of stories I like , it has enough content to last you years. In the app, you can also set daily goals for yourself, if you’d like. I like it. Keeps me consistent . Without this app I never would’ve become an intermediate Latin reader

Excellent app, one flaw

Great way to learn Latin immersively. The one problem is that when the daily timer is up, it's really difficulty to leave the app without accidentally restarting the audio.

Goldstück!!

Entgegen des Standarts der heutigen Zeit, schlechte Apps mit viel Werbung zu machen, bei denen dann 95% der Inhalte nur im Pro Abo nutzbar sind, ist diese App wirklich super; genug kostenlose Inhalte, um auch um auch ohne zu Zahlen einen großen Mehrwert davon zu haben, also kaum auf Profit aus und toll eingesprochene Texte. In einer Zeit wo so viele Quatschapps auf dem Markt sind, ein absolutes

amazinggg

i knew ZERO latin yesterday, but after studying with this app for a few hours last night and this morning, now i can read and understand the entire first module!!! so excited to learn more <3

Great w room for improvement!

This app is everything that’s been saluted in previous 5 star reviews so I won’t repeat all those nice words. I just want to quickly shout out to the development team - is it possible to have a feature to automatically track and record the words that we clicked on for translation? Basically, a fully integrated vocab builder / memory card deck. It will be nice to include how many times in total we clicked on it for translation, as well as all common forms in present tense.
But overall, incredibly grateful for every single person working behind this app!! Simply AMAZING! (quoting all other 5 star reviews here

Brilliant

A fantastic supplement to any Latin program. Very well designed app with a deep collection for all skill levels. It’s been easy to jeep up with my learning habit with this app.

Too slow

I can’t stand listening to this incredibly slow audio of a bunch of sentences I can’t understand. Where’s the part where you tell me what the words mean and how to form sentences etc

Better then dualingo for learning.

Makes you LEARN the words instead of other apps and it does it by reassuring you tht if you can’t get it you can see the meaning and then you remember that for next time. overall i dont see a better app rhat helps with learning and understanding.

Very good

Its very good, and a easy to learn 👏🏽

far too expensive

unquestionably the best latin learning app i've found. unfortunately after a few days i was incredibly disappointed to be met with a screen telling me i had to pay A HUNDRED DOLLARS to continue learning. intrinsically hostile to low income learners.

Best language app

This is my favorite language learning app. It teaches grammar better than Babbel, DuoLingo, and Rosetta Stone. Plus, it is way more fun.

French ?

When will the app be available in french ?

does what it says

this app makes a bunch of readings available in a helpful format, and provides guidance on how to progress through the readings. it has Lingua Latina per se illustrata so if that is enough grammar for you it can be a complete method, though i needed more grounding so am working through some grammars on the side. but having the number and variety of readings all in one place, with helps, is great. well worth the subscription.
