About
Ludo the way we play it in Ghana: with back kicks, side kicks, home kicks and walls, on a wooden board in the colours of the flag. Lelu Ludo is for evenings round the table with family and friends, and for quiet games against the computer when everyone else is asleep.
Play Ghana. Play Together.
GHANA CLASSIC RULES
Everyone knows the start: a 6 brings a token out, you race clockwise round the board and up your own lane, and the first to bring all four tokens home wins. Ghana adds the fun part.
- Forward kick: land on an opponent's token and it goes back to its yard.
- Back kick: if an opponent is exactly your roll behind you, you can go back and kick it instead.
- Side kicks: move by your roll to the edge of a home lane, then jump across it onto an opponent on the other side.
- Home kick: with the exact roll, follow an opponent into their own home lane and kick the token waiting there.
- Walls: two of your tokens on one square make a wall that nobody can pass.
- A 6, a kick or a token reaching home earns another roll. Three sixes in a row and the turn is lost.
- The 6 on the die is Ghana's black star. It counts exactly as a 6.
When a token can do more than one thing, the board marks each square it could reach (Move 4, Back kick, Side kick) and you choose.
Prefer it plain? Switch to Classic rules. Or choose Custom and set each rule yourself: every kick on or off, safe start squares, safe star squares, whether a 1 also brings a token out, and what two of your tokens on one square mean.
PLAY THE COMPUTER
- One, two or three computer opponents.
- Four levels: Novice, Intermediate, Strategist and Grandmaster. The stronger ones go after your tokens, keep out of danger and build walls.
- Change the level in the middle of a game if it's too easy or too hard.
PLAY WITH FRIENDS
- Two, three or four players on one iPhone or iPad. Pass it round on each turn.
LEARN THE GAME
Seven short lessons on the real board, in three chapters: the board, how to move, and the special Ghana rules. Each one sets up a position, gives you the roll and lets you play it, then tells you why it worked. Lessons never touch your saved game.
MADE TO FEEL LIKE A REAL BOARD
A board in red, gold, green and black, set in a dark wooden box with brass corners. Turned-wood pawns, beech dice and a carved dice cup you tap to roll. Soft sounds for every roll, step and kick, and gentle haptics, both easy to turn off.
THE SMALL PRINT
- Free, with no ads and no account. Optional tips, if you want to say thank you: they unlock nothing.
- Collects no data: no analytics, no tracking.
- Works offline. Your game is saved on your device, so you can close the app and carry on later.
- For iPhone and iPad.
There is no online play or Game Center yet. For now, Lelu Ludo is for playing together in the same room, or against the computer.
