Pretty bad for now
The UI on this app is pretty bad. Then the bugs on top make it a “wait and see” app.
- A stock lemonade server install on a Strix halo machine wasn’t detected by the app despite being on the same basic network. I even made sure discover local devices was turned on. The app doesn’t prompt for this at first launch.
- No real thinking indicator for models. The tiny send button spins and often randomly stops. No feedback given. Do I have to try my query again?
- Model picker and server picker should be swapped. Having the server picker be part of the chat window is kind of pointless. I change models more than servers (I only have 1 server).
- needs optional feedback on stats like tps and such.
- initial server setup is confusing. It’s better than it was but I’m still never sure what exactly to type. Do I need the trailing slash /? Do I need /api or /api/ since lemonade server long used /api/v1 endpoint?
Color scheme is a personal preference but it doesn’t match anything else lemonade has. Their server app is dark black or light (beta) skinned. Why purple?
Given time this could be a good app. For now it’s a pass.
