About

About LENS Learning Effective New Strategies (LENS) Training is an evidence-based digital therapy designed to help manage anxiety and depression, ease persistent worries, and build resilience through short guided training sessions. Developed and researched at King's College London, with support from MQ Mental Health Research and the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre, LENS has been clinically shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. It does this by training your brain to respond more positively to everyday challenges, making it easier to manage worries, stress, and uncertainty. Key Benefits • Reduce excessive worry • Improve mood • Learn to interpret uncertainty in a more balanced way • Break the cycle of negative thinking that fuels anxiety Why Choose LENS? When we feel anxious or down, it's common to think uncertain situations will end badly: • ""What if I fail this test?"" • ""What if my friend is upset with me?"" These automatic thoughts can quickly spiral, making daily tasks and interactions feel overwhelming. LENS helps you break that cycle. Using techniques based on Cognitive Bias Modification for Interpretation, you will practice imagining more balanced outcomes in everyday situations. Over time, you will build healthier thinking habits to reduce worry, improve your mood, and boost your resilience. And because LENS is fully digital, you can use it anytime, anywhere. How LENS Works? LENS consists of 12 guided sessions across 4 weeks, designed to gradually build new thinking habits. Each session should take you around 15-20 minutes to complete. In each session, you will: • Listen to short, relatable scenarios from daily life (e.g., relating to work or family and friends). • Practice imagining positive outcomes, gradually shifting from examples with clear positive endings to more open-ended situations. You will also receive an additional 6 booster sessions after you complete the training to help refresh your knowledge! Over the course of the program, you'll practice shifting your perspective from automatically imagining the worst, to seeing more balanced and positive possibilities. Backed by Science Every feature of LENS has been developed based on years of research and clinical research and has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. It has already been successfully adopted by diverse groups of people, including cancer survivors, trainee teachers, individuals with long-term health conditions, and individuals managing stress in everyday life.
