Logged me out

The app I guess updated and logged me out. Dont care enough to log back in. “I hope my movie review app doesn’t get hacked” said no one ever. Not everything needs an account with a bs password. 1 star and uninstalled

4/5 Stars

This website/app is amazing. My only criticism is I wish they would have two separate sections of the app. One for movies, documentaries, tv movies, etc. And one for tv shows. They could even have a third section for shorts. By that I mean content under 40 minutes feature length.

ads are out of hand

these ads in the corner are so ridiculous make it stop!

Dang its gud

Rlly good not much i can say tbf, all quality of life stuff a film lover needs, just one thing would be a report missing films/series that you can watch but are not here for example, you can watch Marvel’s agent carter the two season series but when you serach it up on the app you only get: marvels one shot agent carter (something along that line) were its a 15 minute long short movie

Top 4 actors (new feature?)

Of course I love this app but there’s one feature that I think could be cool. As well as top 4 films, have top 4 favourite actors

Tv shows

Definitely great for movies being able to rank and list them and see what everyone thinks on them. However, it would be great if there was a separate thing for tv shows and you could make seperate lists and ranking and have an addition 4 favorites in tv shows.

A great concept, frustratingly designed

I love the social aspect of the app and I’m a huge fan of the layout of certain things (I love the layout of the credits menu, for instance) but the review mechanism especially is laid out in a very confusing way. The “rate, log, write a review” button brings up a menu that should be icons on the main screen. The whole app generally requires too much scrolling and tapping to do what should be simple to complete. I also wish we could save lists to a library, because I really enjoy some of the Letterboxd lists and I want to be able to save them to the app more easily.

Private

You can keep your data as private as you want here. Or you can become involved with the community. It is an excellent resource for movie lovers.

biggest waste of time

This app was so terrible. I’ve never ever seen an app that doesn’t let you reset your username and then once you reset your password completely lock you out of the account because you’ve used too many emails and the website is unable to remember your username. I’ve had the most problems with this app that I’ve had with any other app in my entire life and there’s no customer support. This is quite possibly the worst thing that ever happened to the iPhone.

Best App For Movie Watchers

I love this app. It’s a great way to track what I want to watch and the reviews are entertaining. A couple of things I think would add to it - is the ability to write private notes on a movie such as this was suggested by so and so, it’s supposed to be similar to this movie etc. also the ability to sort lists by genre, director or main actor, and collaboration on lists would also be great. Thanks for making this app. Please don’t sell to Netflix.

Great all round just one nitpick

The UI looks good, I like all the features which includes following other people, being able to rent films via the app, a watchlist, seeing the popularity of current films in cinemas etc.

The biggest issue I have is so minor it’s just that whenever I’m trying to highlight text in the app, or interject in a large paragraph that I’ve written using my cursor, it does some weird stuff with the formatting and disregards my click so it just continues writing where I last typed which is so odd and doesn’t happen in the web version (where I therefore opt to write my reviews). This is, for some, such a non-issue and it really is just thought it was something worth noting fixing and flagged it because of that.

Overall great app and system and will continue to use it. No intrusive ads or anything which I like and I would very much like it if they keep it that way. I love using this app because it reminds me to be more deliberate with the content that I’m consuming, the usage of my time, as well as just actually understanding movies and film as a pastime. It makes me think about how many films I have actually watched in my life and makes me recognise how I’ve literally watched 0.00001% of the world’s media (which is crazy).

smth they should add

i loveeee this app!! i love movies and everything cinema. i really wish that they had black n white photos for actors, actresses, producers, directors etc when they pass away i personally think its a good honour

Keeps locking me out.

I like to keep a list of the movies I’ve watched, Letterboxd made this horribly inconvenient.

Don’t get it

Forgot my password, couldn’t reset it. Deleted straight away. Won’t recommend.

Class

Git up mush

Terrible UX

One excellent feature of this app is that it enables expanded thumbnails to be swiped & spun off the screen. Sadly it is the only excellent feature, the rest of the UX sucks.

LET US RESPOND AND LIKE COMMENTS

please add ^^^^ that feature and the app will be perfect

Great platform with a terrible app.

I love letterboxd as a platform but its design is clunky, outdated, and frustrating to use. The lack of elastic search, deep linking, and incredibly laggy UX creates a frustrating user experience. Web links lead to the app but always default to the homepage rather than the specific link you have clicked. It really needs a refresh.
