Great app with a couple gaps
Definitely a happy user, but a couple big things: 1) it’s the slowest-loading app I have ever seen. I just want to get in and check something about a movie, and I’m watching it load. Apps should be faster than the web. 2) You can’t include “I have watched this” in your searches! I almost never want to search for a movie I have not seen. A really basic omission.

Best app of all time
This us my favourite app, its perfect in every possible way and idk how every single person on the whole planet doesnt have this app. I wish there was an app like this for games and books and all that stuff.
This app made me a slave to watching countless films

SELL OUT
if you sell to a studio company i will stop using this app
Unclear Community Guidelines
I got an email saying I violated the terms of service by using offensive language in one or more of my reviews. Did they tell me which review? No. Did they tell me which language was offensive? Also no. Did they tell me what community guidelines I violated specifically? Also no. But they did tell me repeated infractions could result in termination, and I am suspended for two days.
If some rando being offended means I can lose years of journals and tracking, I’m out. I’m downloading IMDb right after writing this review, and moving everything. Not worth the risk of losing it all.

It will be the worst thing to happen to the app ever pls
Seeing others reviews makes me lose faith in people’s right to having an opinion.
I like letterbox and all, I mainly use it for my own personal movie tracking.
However, when you go to the review tab under any movie, they’re just so little people that genuinely review it, most of the people are trying to make some niche, indie comment to try and stand out, but you end up just getting a board of unfunny comments.
It’s so terrible, really, this isn’t an app to review movies, so if you’re looking for genuine opinion and reviews, this is not the app for you.

if u guys sell istg what is this app even for
Soon to be owned by Netflix
Getting sold to venture capital. Only a matter of time before the app goes downhill, I’m bailing out now.
Liquid Glass when?
Don’t love it when the ads take over my system audio but the biggest faux pas is no Liquid Glass at this stage. Silly but it’s starting to stand out (derogatory).
Disappointed
I love this app. Reviewing movies, making lists, and having a watchlist is so much fun. But locking banner and poster customizations behind a $49/ year subscription is honestly ridiculous. I even paid $19/year for pro and was surprised I still couldn’t edit banners. Serializd lets you customize your profile for free, so it’s hard not to compare. The feature I actually wanted is locked behind a subscription that’s more than double the price, and that just feels greedy. It makes an otherwise awesome app a lot less appealing. :( sorry Letterboxd

question
hi, i love ur app very cool but kinda disappointed theres no option to review shows, can yall look into that?
better than fake review IMDb
i got so tired of trying to find quality reviews to help me decide if a movie is worth my time. IMDb has become a cesspool of paid for reviews which are pretty easy to identify, but I still don't want to waste time filtering through that slop. rotten tomatoes is another kind of bad with vested critics more concerned with licking the boots of studios or overly hyped directors. i found Letterboxd on a search for something better. i'm new to it, but so far i do like the overall experience and vibe much better than those others. i feel like i'm seeing real reviews from real people. i'm looking forward to supporting this platform just for not wasting my time and making reviews kind of fun again within a community environment.

Boring
How am I supposed to track a series or movie if I can’t even add it to my list
Best Apps
One of the best apps of all time
i’ve never written an app review before
i use this app once a day one thing i want to add is maybe messaging? or like an interactive element maybe that will ruin the mystique tho
Memory leak?
I love this app so much, the person who said the interface needs to be more like “other social media apps” can shove it, please never change Letterboxd. Probably the ideal app format for any sort of media logging. That said:
I couldn’t find the proper place to report bugs, but the app performance significantly degrades after ~10 minutes of use. If, for example, I’m reordering films in a list, it will start out fine and then lag worse and worse and worse until I have to quit the app and reopen. My guess is memory mismanagement, but idk. Reading reviews doesn’t have this issue so I’m not sure how big of a priority it would be for the dev team, but it would be nice if it didn’t happen!

Apple TV Version
The app seems alright, but why doesn’t the Apple TV version have links to watch the movies? Search engines have a “where to watch” feature for movies, and it seems Letterboxd would level up by providing this functionality on app, especially on the Apple TV app.
Why so buggy?!
Love Letterboxd and the community, but my god it’s buggy. So often just not loading, blank screens, have to close and restart it again and again. Such a shame because it’s really an excellent companion for any film lover.
