love it, but…

I love the idea of handwritten letters. Reading those open letters really makes me want to write one too. The only thing stopping me is that I’m a bit anxious about online interactions. If i can’t even choose what kind of people can receive my letters, I’ll always worry that someone who doesn’t understand me might send me a rude reply. So i’d really appreciate it if we could choose tags or limit who can see our open letters. I think people like me will feel a lot safer to share our thoughts here.

PS; Please feel free to "start a conversation" with any of the PenPal lettres you see in your stack; there's a button to start a conversation directly from the lettre view (underneath the 'heart' button). That way, you will know exactly who you're writing to. Additionally, you can always invite people you know into the platform using the "send lettre as an email" or an invite link! Not an excuse; just suggesting some potential options you might have missed!

Suggestion!

So the app’s good so far I enjoy all the features and the stamp thing is pretty cool, the only downside is that you have to pay for more stamps when you run out, my suggestion is to have like one app stamp that’s free and can be used infinitely if you run out of other stamps.

EDIT: I only suggest this because many users sometimes don’t have option to buy more stamps or use the subscription. Thank u, :)

Love this app!

It’s so intresting and fun to use! I made so many friends using this app. The only downside is we have to wait a day to send a letter and to get one back. But I definitely recommend downloading this.

On the point about the downside, it’s actually by design as we want people to have more thoughtful and meaningful conversations over instant gratification. With that said, we do have the option to send a lettre instantly or at a scheduled time; it’s called “Express Mail” and can be found on the Envelope screen. Tap the “thunder/lightning”-looking button to enable Express Mail mode! To note, this feature is only available for members of the Pippin Supporters Club, the people whose support keeps us independent and ad-free for everyone!

A really meaningful app!

This app is a beautiful way to communicate with people from the other side of the world in a slow and meaningful way. I really enjoy handwriting and decorating letters to my penpals on this app. Although there are some occassional bugs, most of the app works well and the papers & envelopes are really beautiful. My only complaint is that the budding writer and baby steps stamps are really common and they keep accumulating in my stamp book. I don't like to see so many of them accumulating since I dislike their bland appearance, so I tried to send lettres with those stamps to other people, but for some reason I can never get rid of them completely. Maybe in the future we can have an update where you can exchange 5x budding writer/baby steps stamps for a stamp from another continent or something?

Fun, but horrible ui

Whenever you want to add a “sticker” (decoration), you have to click on the add sticker button, select one, and then you can mess with the specifics. The specifics are the issue. When you put it under the text, half of the time it just won’t let you edit it by making it bigger or moving it. This wouldn’t be an issue if you could set it up in position before putting it under the text, but the button is in a specific place above the sticker, so it’s sometimes off the screen. This means that, unless you move it, you can’t send it to the back layer. If you have multiple overlapping stickers, it becomes increasingly difficult to change specific ones. You accidentally click on the sticker selection boxes frequently, causing all of them to be highlighted at once. This makes it generally unclear. You’ll frequently zoom in when trying to enlarge items. Also, the only way to change layers is “send to back” or “bring to front,” no “move back one layer.” I enjoy the concept, but it’s very difficult to customize using stickers

Amazing app aside from a few minor things

This is a fantastic app! I have made some friends on it that i send letters back and forward to often and i quite enjoy the slower approach to it (although i would prefer if there was a feature such as 3 immediate sends a month for free). The only bad thing is when i receive letters they show and i can read and reply to them but it takes a lot longer for the actual notification for it to be sent through which annoys me as i’ve already replied to the lettre but then i’m getting a notification a few hours late. Other than that then it is a brilliant app and i love all the little features included!!!

My new favorite app

In an algorithm dominated world, this app feels so much slower and human. It’s not follower based so you can actually connect with real people all across the world. And the best part is that it’s completely free with no ads and NO GENERATIVE AI. I’ve only had this app for a few days and I can confidently say I love it and I cannot recommend it enough!

Spam emails

I get spam “we miss you” emails from dev with no opt out / unsubscribe options or way to email them to request removal. I don’t even have the app installed anymore and haven’t in a long time

No activity?

This app seemed so fun and like what I was looking for. I just never get any replies. I have since given up on it, but it really does seem like a great app, maybe other people will have a better experience than I did. Unfortunately, it just felt dead for me.

Great app

I really like this app and i even had family download it and they loved it too. Even tho I really liked this app i sent out 3 letters and still after around 2 months still haven’t got a reply also it would be nice if someone already had a pen pal for the letter to not be shown in the pen pal area
