Difficult in small towns..
If you live in a city, this app probably works amazing! I live in a small town, and few people are on it. There’s no local events. And the dating app is ingrained everywhere. It’s very hard to use this solely for making friends. You also cannot see local people again if you don’t pay for it.

i used to love this app and was on it from its inception, but i was banned several months ago and i have no idea why. no one has emailed me back nor responded to any dms. i was also a paying user. you can’t even make a new account once yours is banned.

All they care about anymore is money. This app is one of the worst now, and it's full of bots that spam report.
Lost а good one
Joined when this was аn app based off the old lesbian personals for queer people. Then the makers sold it off and the new owners killed the original concept before effectively abandoning it. Scammers, bots and cis straight men sexually harassing people and writing some pretty vile messages about and to us are half the users if not more. What’s crazy is people have contacted them trying to sell community based ads or address issues on here. Radio silence. Guessing the user base wasn’t deemed profitable enough because they tried to make а spin off app for sans the queerness, not realizing what made people fundraise for and support this app at all. There may be better apps for queer people in the future but right now this one is just being stripped for parts.

I reported a scammer and made a post warning others. I was then banned. I’ve heard nothing back from support, and have no way to inform the people I was planning dated with. Devastating.

If any other recent review hasn’t convinced you then hopefully this one will. There are scammers o plenty even before you start interacting with the ecosystem. Just don’t pass out your emails so easily or your numbers or discords or anything else. And especially don’t interact with the map feature if you can.

Unfair Account Ban and Device Block
I have already submitted the in-app appeal form, but I want to ensure my case is reviewed by a human moderator on your Trust and Safety team.
As a Black trans woman, I believe my profile was maliciously targeted and reported by a hostile user. My recent activity consisted solely of uploading a couple of standard face pictures and sending a friendly, respectful shout-out to fellow leather Lesbians from the community in three group chats. I did not violate any community guidelines, and this ban appears to be an automated response triggered by bad-faith user reports.
Because of this ban, my entire device has been blocked from the platform, preventing me from accessing my community.
Lex is supposed to be a safe, inclusive space for queer and trans people of color. Being targeted and immediately blocked without a proper human review is deeply disheartening. I kindly request that a moderator reviews my chat logs and profile to restore my account and clear my device status.
I think at least me going public, so that other potential users can understand how reports, and issues are dealt with on lex, is only fair, do I will do so if need be.

Do NOT use this app if you value your safety.
The admin for this app is absolutely horrific. Someone stole my identity and posed as me in order to run a scam. When I reported it to admin, instead of taking care of this issue, they banned MY account. Now, there is still someone posing as me and nothing I can do about it. The folks that run this app should be deeply ashamed of themselves.

Lex was the first queer meetup app I ever downloaded, and it’s been really special for me. 5 years ago, this app helped me meet queer people in my area. Some really cool events used to be planned on it! But then, capitalism does what capitalism does. Things on the app started to cost money. If you don’t pay to promote yourself, or pay to be a member, you hardly see any profiles and your boops disappear before you see them (they say it’s 24 hours but it’s definitely shorter). The app is now filled with chasers and bots, preying on queer people. Now when I open Lex, it feels gross. Nobody in my area uses it anymore or even knows what it is. I wish the story had turned out differently.

Can’t unblock people
A bug: my list of blocked accounts won’t load, so I can’t unblock anyone. I’ve blocked a lot of spammers over the years I’ve been using Lex so the list is longish, but still. Something needs to get tweaked in the code.

My posts are no longer showing up on the feed
I sent them an email about it but have not received a response as of July 11th. My “boops” are always expired before I can click on the notification. Half of the profiles appear to be bots. Lex is not the app it used to be
