Needs an editor

Typos in word games are really annoying, and they’re common here. Today’s “way” for “why” is typical. Crossword clues frequently have the last letter truncated (is the clue “Sol” or “Solo”?). Whole games get repeated two consecutive days. There are frequent minor bugs - crosswords can’t decide whether they’re going to skip filled-in squares or overwrite them for example. All in all this feels like Lex is overextended and frantically rushing to complete the puzzles every day, making a bad experience for users.

I’m so sorry you feel this way. I’m not rushing to write puzzles; I’m running at least a month in advance. Because it’s a one man operation, typos do come up, and I deeply regret them, but I’m working hard on a longer term solution.

Crossword is mad buggy

Fun games. But the crossword is ridiculous: on an iPhone SE at least, the yellow highlight boxes and grid outlines are misaligned, the error checker highlighting is erroneous, long clues cannot be expanded, the completion checks on the Home Screen are mismatched with the crosswords (fine for other games), and the algorithm for advancing the cursor is unpredictable. Also: incessant prompts for a rating are vexing, especially when (clearly) I have rated it.

Sub is well worth it

Great selection of games, fun to play, idiosyncratic and challenging. The only problem is the fantastically buggy crossword — it draws poorly on my (small, I know) SE, the completion checkmarks don’t line up with completed crosswords reliably (only game that has that issue), a couple days ago it just wasn’t there, and today I had it right, but it claimed I was wrong. I revealed the words that were marked wrong and it wrote exactly what I had, but in lower case. 🤦‍♂️

Apple offers developers a means to ask for reviews through your app. Apple limits how often you see them. I apologize if my request for reviews caused you to feel that the app offered a one star experience.

Your progress should definitely not be reset. The new Crossword interface mostly seems to be getting celebrated, but I’m sorry it doesn’t work for you. I’d love to better understand what’s not working for you.

Good games

I like the games but the keyboard is cut off on the right side when I try to play Cryptogram on my iPhone 15 Pro running 26.2.1. A fix would be appreciated!

put it back the way it was!

the new mini crossword looks awful! what was wrong with its old appearance? now it looks cheap! it’s harder to read the clues, and the animations are sluggish! put it back how it was before, please!

I’m using Apple’s built-in functionality for developers to request ratings. One star ratings when you enjoy the app are… rough. I’m sorry the requests bothered you, but Apple actually determines how often you see them.

Games are great!

The games are fun! I love the punny Crostics! I had an issue restoring my purchase and Lex helped me.

Games are great but no restore your purchase function

The games are fun. However I purchased the subscription and had to uninstall for an issue with my phone. I cannot get the app to recognize my username and it does not restore my purchase so I cannot use the paid functions. I tried to reach out to the developer via email with no response. I took off 3 stars because of this problem.

Several games in one

There’s bound to be one in the collection to interest most people.

Not to fond of the “gray” design pattern that encourages the player to post a social result after each game. I just wanna play, not advertise.

Fun daily distraction!

I enjoy playing most of the games most days. There was an issue with one game but Lex got it solved! Fun app!

I enjoy playing most of the games most days, but I currently can’t submit guesses in the Mind Control game. After picking guesses, there button does nothing. iOS 26.1

honestly, this game is great, but unless something has changed, apps aren't supposed to beg and nag for reviews, and this game has done so twice now.

Leaderboard bug

Leaderboard for archived letter opener games only shows the leaderboard for puzzle #1, no matter which puzzle you just solved.

A daily treat

I love the daily games and the ability to compare my scores with other players adds an element of competition that I really enjoy (especially when I’m near the top).
