What's New in Lexy

4.0.1

September 3, 2026

Lexy 4.0.1 — Every Word You Get Counts Encouragement When You're Close Get most of the words right and Lexy now says so: "Great start! You got 4 of 6 words." Before, a nearly-right answer was met with silence — and for a child who has just worked hard, silence reads as failure. Now the effort gets named. Words Light Up As You Read Them In reading sentences, each word colours in the moment Lexy hears it. You can see progress as you go, instead of waiting for a verdict at the end. A Calmer Reading Session The session controls now live in one dock at the bottom, out of the way of the keyboard, and progress is a quiet hairline at the top rather than a bar competing for attention. Narration reads the challenge itself — and stays quiet when reading it aloud would give the answer away. Also in This Update - Gentle haptics through the app, and a single switch to turn them off - Unlock Premium now works on Mac - Rewards and Achievements always have a way back - Fixes to the review prompt so it never interrupts a child mid-word Thank you for reading with us.

So far good

Sometimes on the IPhone app the app glitches, otherwise we love the interface, the microphone works really well for the reading portion, though it could give a bit more time for sounding out a word.

Response from developer

Thank you — and thank you especially for the note about time. You were right. When a child sounds a word out — "c… a… t" — the gaps between the sounds were long enough that the app decided they had finished, and stopped listening mid-word. That was our mistake, and in a reading app for dyslexic learners it is exactly the wrong place to be impatient. We have fixed it — word practice will wait considerably longer before it stops — and it is in the next update. 4.0 is also a large stability release, so the glitches should be much rarer. If anything else trips you up, kevin@round-tower.ie reaches me directly. Kevin, Round Tower

WORKS GREAT

I really like his app, easy to use and my child like it so far

Response from developer

Thank you — that is lovely to hear. "Easy to use" is the part we work hardest at, so it is a good day when someone says it back to us. If your child ever hits something that is not easy, kevin@round-tower.ie comes straight to me. Kevin, Round Tower

Bad app

So I got Lexi in my computer cause i have bad spelling it didn’t always work but it was fine but ever since they added ai leaner to it it hardly worked anymore it constantly says bad WiFi when the WiFi is fine and displays error messages a lot of times I don’t know if it’s my computer but still I would not recommend earthier it’s my computer or it’s the app

Cant hear her speak

My child is getting annoyed in an already frustrated

Response from developer

Coming back to this with an actual answer, rather than another apology. We found the cause. Lexy's voice could stall or go silent because of the way the app started and stopped listening — it was interrupting itself. That is fixed, together with the audio problems that showed up when headphones were connected mid-session. Version 4.0 carries all of it. If your child still cannot hear her, please write to me at kevin@round-tower.ie and I will sort it personally. Thank you for your patience — and I am sorry it was frustrating for your child, which is the opposite of the point. Kevin, Round Tower
