You have to pay to unlock the useful parts. Why would pay for an app that controls my tv when you make your money selling electronics? The best part is they are forcing you to update your tv after 2 years with a whole new tv because the restrict old models from getting the newest updates. Everything is a scam in this world we live in. You have to pay to use any part of the remote. It does not work without buying the in-app purchases.

I paid for the full unlocked remote so I can’t give an honest review about the unpaid app, but as a paid one it’s great! I hate having to line my remote’s light with the light on the TV. Using WiFi, I can be laying on the ground or in another room and lowering the volume or pausing the TV. It’s useful when you can’t find the remote instantly either. The TV responds instantly and after the initial pairing, it just works. I recommend coughing up the few bucks you need to spend on having this be an ad free/unlocked app.
