Easy to search, put a hold on a book

Love using this app, so easy to search out an author, title of book etc , put it on hold and then wait till it arrives. Thank you.

Please add a “favourites” or “my bookshelf” feature so users can save items they wish to borrow in future

Great update showing better detail of current holds. Next please aim for alphabetical listings of borrow history.

Nothing but a nuisance

This app is so annoying. With the large number of users, it should be monitored for bug at least weekly. Since the app's return, I can no longer go back to a previous page after viewing the full description of a book, needing to go out of the app altogether then reloading it. I am using an iPad mini.

Sorry to hear that. We've noticed some functionality problems and have had issues with the development of the current app. We've been working on a new app to fix all this and more and hope to release it in the coming months. Apologies for the delay and poor experience you're having.

No connection ?

Saw the advertisement for this app proudly displayed in the foyer of Mornington Library. Great, I thought, one less card to carry around. “Unable to Connect to Server” - would love to see it working. Seems I’m not the only one!

The app has now been restored. We sincerely apologies for the inconvenience and delays. Due to circumstances beyond Library Victoria's control, the Libraries Victoria mobile app was no longer functional.

Not working

I’ve been using this app for a few years. About 2 weeks ago, it stopped working - cannot connect to server - what does this mean?!? Other people are also complaining, so at least it’s not just me. I want to reserve a couple of books but can’t :( I guess I’ll keep trying every few days and see if it is fixed. Fingers crossed!!

Simple … but has a bug

Update - app is no longer functional. No reason given - but info suggests this will be permanent and a new app is being sourced by LibrariesVic to replace it.

Not a bad app … good for managing your account. But linked accounts do not show up, as another review says. Frustrating that I have to log in and out constantly to manage family member accounts when app says it should be able to access with ease. Please fix.

Unable to access app

Loaded app in October and found it useful. In December it would not load. Message “Unable to connect to server” Have deleted and reloaded app, ensured all software is up to date but still won’t load. Also tried loading on a family members phone and iPad with same results. Very annoying.

Cannot get in to app

I’ve downloaded and re-downloaded this app twice now and been met with the same error message ‘unable to connect to server’. I have full wifi and my other apps work fine. Very disappointing.

I have a new iPhone 15 pro max IOS 17.1.1 and the Libraries Victoria app won’t open. I get a black screen with the following message ‘Unable to connect to server Please make sure you have a network connection and then try again’ Hasn’t the app been updated to work with the new phones????? Not happy

Haven’t been able to access the app as it never opens as the server has always been down. Will retry in a week or so.

Ok but display need to be fixed

Current Holds and CheckOuts information does not display. Have to go through web page which seems to defeat the point of the app.

What's the point of this app?

I am a member of at four libraries. They each already have an app. I thought this might do away with the need for separate apps for each library but I cannot see how to enter multiple library membership details. I can’t work out what this app actually does.

Linked card items don’t display

Reserved and borrowed items on linked cards don’t display. I have unlinked the cards, sign out of the app, deleted it from my phone, turned it off and then back on after a few minutes. After reinstalling the app, signing in and relinking the cards, I still can’t see borrowed and reserved items belonging to the linked accounts.

No problem with the SA app, which is very similar, but this VIC one doesn’t work well.

Simplistic interface but slightly buggy

Really simple interface- so easy to use which is great!

Does have bugs such as:
1. Scanning your card when trying to log in brings up a letter on the beginning and end of the numerals making your card number incorrect- you cannot log in without manually removing the letters
2. The solution to not being able to log in is to contact a staff member. Would be SO much easier to include a reset/ forgot password fiction as opposed to slogging up to the local library
3. You cannot renew an item more than twice (even if no one else has reserved the item) and you must borrow again from scratch
4. If someone has put a hold on an item you have currently borrowed, you obviously cannot renew the item. However, the message doesn’t not say that, it comes up with a system error which is confusing

Super easy fixes right? 😊
