Licko: Jazz Licks & Improv

Licko finds jazz licks for you, played with a real band and written for your instrument. Listen, skip to the next one, keep the ones you like, and Licko shows you why every note works. FIND LICKS One big Listen button, then Previous, Keep or Another one. Every lick follows the rules of bebop: chord tones on the strong beats, enclosures, chromatic approaches, guide tones. Three levels, 1 to 4 bars. ON THE TUNES YOU KNOW Autumn Leaves, Blue Bossa, All of Me, Fly Me to the Moon, Take the A Train, Summertime, Satin Doll and a blues in F, in the key of the tune. Plus 9 classic chord sequences: major and minor ii-V-I, turnaround, rhythm changes, blues ending... A REAL BAND WITH YOU Walking bass, brushes on drums and piano, with a real swing. Adjustable tempo. WORK ON A LICK Slow it down (slow, medium, normal), listen, then play it yourself while the band keeps going. Take it through all 12 keys, or change it: easier, harder, new rhythm, on other chords. WRITTEN FOR YOUR INSTRUMENT Guitar with tab and fretboard, piano with keyboard, tenor and alto sax, trumpet, trombone, double bass, flute, violin and vibes. Transposed parts for B-flat and E-flat instruments. EVERY NOTE EXPLAINED The degree shows under every note, with a colour for its role. Tap a note to see why it works. MY LICKS AND SHARING Keep your favourite licks and replay them in one tap. Send a lick to a musician friend: the link opens it right in Licko. Print your licks as PDF or open them in MuseScore.
