About

Something broke, the part is discontinued, and the replacement costs more than the thing it goes in. LiDify turns the broken part into a model you can print. Photograph it with your iPhone, let the app rebuild it in 3D on the device, size it against your calipers, check that it will actually print, and export it to your slicer. HOW IT WORKS 1. Scan the part. Guided capture walks you round it, showing you where the coverage is still thin. 2. Rebuild it on the device. Photogrammetry runs on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded. 3. Size it against your calipers. Measure the real part, type the number in, and everything is rescaled to match. LiDify also cross-checks the model against the LiDAR measurement and tells you when the two disagree. 4. Make it printable. Close holes, drop it flat, cut a base, smooth the surface, and see exactly how many open edges and separate shells are left. 5. Export. STL, 3MF or OBJ, in millimetres, Z up, sitting on the build plate — so it opens in your slicer at the size you measured. MEASURE ANYTHING ON THE MODEL Tap two points to measure between them. Read off overall size, volume and surface area. Measure one clean edge with your calipers, type the reading in, and the model is rescaled to match and keeps that scale. TURN A SCAN INTO REAL CAD, WITH AN AI IF YOU WANT ONE A scan is a shape, not a drawing. LiDify can package everything an AI assistant needs to help you rebuild the part properly — orthographic views, the measurements, the printability report, and a written brief. Share that bundle into any assistant you like, or connect your own Anthropic API key and ask Claude from inside the app. Both are optional and both are off until you choose them. When you do use the direct path, LiDify shows you the exact request first — every image, the full prompt, the size and the estimated cost — and sends nothing until you tap Send. NO ACCOUNT. NO SERVER. There is nothing to sign up for. Your scans, photographs and models stay on your device. LiDify has no analytics, no tracking and no backend. The only thing that ever leaves is a request you explicitly approve, to a provider you chose, billed to your own key. WHAT IT COSTS Scanning and building a model need LiDify Pro, monthly or yearly, and new subscribers start with a free week — long enough to scan a real part, print it and find out whether it fits. Everything you make stays open, measurable and exportable whether you keep subscribing or not, and bringing in a model you already have is always free. The subscription covers scanning and reconstruction; it is not a charge for using your camera. WHAT YOU NEED LiDify 1.0 is iPhone only. Scanning needs a LiDAR scanner — iPhone 12 Pro, or any later Pro model. Without one you can still import a USDZ, STL or OBJ and use the whole measuring, repair and export pipeline on it. HOW ACCURATE IS IT, HONESTLY In our testing, overall size typically landed within about a millimetre. Small features and surface detail are worse. If you have not sized the model against a physical measurement, the absolute scale can be out by a few percent. Your calipers are the authority, and LiDify is built to say so rather than to flatter the scan. LiDify is a measurement aid, not a metrology instrument. Always verify the dimensions that decide whether a part fits by measuring the real part. Do not use it for structural or load-bearing parts, anything holding pressure, medical use, vehicle or aircraft parts, electrical enclosures, or anything protecting a person.
