Life in the U.K. test questions

Test questions generally good - some poorly worded, some repetitive. My y main criticism is that when I download an app it appears on both my IPhone and iPad. I purchased the extra questions on one device and have just been asked to pay again to access those questions on the other device. Very disappointing.

The best app

I found this the best app to help review, practice & prepare for the Life In The UK Test. Easy to use. Nice layout. Lots of practice questions/tests. It gives the correct answer & explanation in the practice tests to help with your learning. You can do the practice tests as many times as you want. I got a pass the first time. You only need this app and the official book.

Very helpful app

Helped me pass my test after I paid the £3 or so to buy the set of 45 tests. I was able to answer about 20 of the 24 questions quite confidently thanks to this.

I would recommend making the investment for the extra questions right as you download it. I did do the mock test about 45 times as well, making it 90 times overall to be sure of passing the real test though.

Make sure you invest the time to use this information well!

Very useful app

Read the Book and did pretty much all the questions in the app and passed easily the first time. Would appreciate if all questions answered wrong were saved for a review, not only those from the last set of questions you answered so they could be repeated later. All in all very useful. Thank you

Very useful prep

I completed all the mock tests a couple of days prior to the test and passed easily. I confess I did read over the official handbook but found the tests more useful and felt they comprehensively covered all the subject matter in the official book but in a more pragmatic format that prepares you for the reality of the exam.

Quality App

This app is worth every penny. The layout is easy to read. I feel as though the app covers everything I read in the study book. I have my test in 2 weeks time and I’m feeling confident that this app has helped me.
It’s a lot to learn (especially history section), but there are also a lot of common sense questions.
If anyone is thinking of purchasing this app, please do. You won’t regret it. It has the best layout in comparison to the other apps I downloaded.

No random questions

You’re paying to get all 50 practice tests, but there’s no point. If you’re not going to put longer explanations on some answers when you get them wrong at least randomise the questions and the order in which the multiple selections for each question come up. Otherwise you’ll go through them ones, and when you try to go through them again you’ll already know the order of all the answers so you don’t actually stop to think and learn something. There’s free online practice tests that do all I’ve described above. Don’t waste your money!

Very Helpful

Just passed the test, this app can save you a lot of time to read the original book, and there are actually a few same questions been asked in the real test. So my advice is to read through the rest&answer part (1150+questions with the right answers showed) and then practice carefully all the 48 tests individually at least 2-3 times, then you will pass for sure.

Not as good

Yes there are questions and mock up test, no stats, no percentage of total completion. But the worst is that I got a pop up saying offer £1.49 to unlock all the tests, being charged £2.99 which was the former offer... asked for refund, it works exactly like the free one you can find on the store. Also same content.
Too bad because it’s well designed and I really wanted to pay the devs back!

The Best Guaranteed to Pass

Downloaded the app, read through the history past of the thin life in the uk official book once. Downloaded all the tests, first 10 test I scored 70,66,77 but then buy the time I got to 30 test I was getting 90,91,95,100. This was all once in less than 24 hours before the test

Went to the test centre was nervous, did a couple more test before. I finished the test in 5 mins and thought something was wrong. First out and PASSED!!!

Thanks to this app. I first app review, I had too.

At the end of each test, you can see the ones you got wrong by scrolling down.

Passed first attempt

Fantastic app; huge amount of questions that are very similar to the real thing. I read the official book cover to cover once and took all 48 tests in this app in the few days leading up to the test. Came into the real thing really well-prepared and knew almost all of the questions. If you do consistently well in this app, you should be able to pass the real test without too much drama.

The only suggestion I would have is for the app to keep a list of incorrectly answered questions - would help in identifying weak areas and allow for a final review ahead of the test.

Amazing

I love this app! It works wonders; it's simple and easy to use and records your progress efficiently. I passed on my first attempt, having purchased the 48 practice questions (for only £2.99!!!) and actively revised them for about a week. I didn't bother to purchase the book; however, I would recommend that those who don't really have much background knowledge of British history to purchase the handbook first as the app does not provide the content material.

Passed first time

It's a great app. I think you should definitely buy the book first, as it contains all the information in a contextualized way. But then I wouldn't bother with the practice test book. This app is better because (1) it contains more practice tests - 48, compared to 16 (2) it allows you to easily track your progress (3) it can create new mock tests from randomly assembled lists of questions and (4) you can do it on the train.

Great app. Passed today on the first time taking the test.

All you need to pass first time

I hardly write review especially with not having the option to review app from within the app.

But I had to find app in App Store just to leave a review comment.

I sat LIUK test today and passed first time within 15 mins.

I bought the book but just couldn't read it. I them read someone recommending the app and decided to give it a go.

I read all the 48 practice tests twice with very little concentration as I have a baby.

I passed without stress, the app is sooo good .reading the questions alone is all u need to pass

Very good!

The questions are quite extensive, covering most, if not all issues mentioned in the book. The repetition of the same questions in different tests are less compared to the app of the original book by TSO, so i liked this app better in this sense.

Passed. app helped but....

Have not read the book but practiced all questions
If you are proficient enough of the language you could answer some questions (1/3) relative to having a decent amount of common sense
The layout of the test is not similar but comparative and some answers (1/3) I got from doing the practice tests
The rest of the questions (1/3) are from history lessons way back (ages ago) for which I am grateful having not missed those classes-)

If you're quite "short" of any of the above its best to dedicate your time reading the book. So you can have a fair chance at passing because the questions were not easy!

Great app!

For me, the real benefit of this app is the 48 practice tests it provides so that you can rehearse the questions til you know most by heart. I'm giving it 4 stars though, because having just passed the test I spotted several questions that were not in any of the practice tests. I think if the developers can regularly update the practice tests to reflect the real test questions (at least once a year) I would rate it as 5 stars. Overall, excellent value.

Passed. First Attempt

Now here's the misconception having sat for Test and passed at the first attempt, a lot of ppl think that by having and practising questions from this app alone will guarantee them a pass...Please NO. The secret is to Read the Book, especially the history bit. The difficulty of some of the questions are indeed similar that's why I gave this app 5 stars. I only read the History of Britain as I was confident of the rest without reading, it paid off because I mastered it and when all questions about history came I was just clicking the answers like a boss. The rest is easy, good luck to anyone planning or about to sit for theirs. Practice these questions at least 5 times a day, 3 weeks prior to your exam having already gone thru the book I guarantee you 100% satisfactory result.

Awesome app!! 5 stars

This app helps a lot with the tests on it. It did help me. But i think you have to read the book at least once to have idea what book talks about, so it will be much easy. Anyway the app was great help, nearly same questions like the test i gave for Life in UK. Good luck :)

Passed on first attempt! Did miss extra info in app.

I have the handbook and was reading it but due to lack of time to study, I thought it would be more useful to do a lot of mock tests as it's more engaging to learn the facts quickly. I started doing nearly all the mock tests in this app the day before my test and thankfully I passed in one go!

What I did miss in the app was a bit of extra information for each question once you've given the answer. No just know if you got it right or wrong, so sometimes I had to google or read the handbook if a term or name was used that I didn't even know. That's why I didn't give 5 but 4 stars. Other than that: a very useful app to pick up the knowledge quickly and feeling confident to do the test!
