Cool idea for an app
I downloaded this mostly as a novelty, thought it was a neat idea but figured I’d forget about it within a week. I’d been using an app for years that shut down, then I switched phones and lost most of that data, so when I saw LifesJournal had an import option I figured why not try to import the old backups.
Fast forward and I opened it on a whim while waiting for a friend. Ended up sitting there for twenty minutes just scrolling. I kept tapping places I didn’t even remember going. A random parking lot turned out to be near a restaurant I used to go to all the time. A neighborhood I’d “just passed through” apparently three separate times over the summer trying to meet this girl :-).
It’s like finding a journal you didn’t know you were writing. I don't remember setting anything up, but the timeline was full of my recent visits too. It just quietly builds this record of your life and waits for you to go looking, super neat.
Genuinely one of those apps I’d be annoyed to lose. Now I wander my neighborhood just to see if the app knows where I went LOL.
