It was good until the subscription
Response from developer
Thanks for the honest feedback and I'm with you on subscriptions being out of hand! One thing I should clear up though: LifeTicker isn't a subscription based app. Every feature is free for everyone, including widgets, shared countdowns, images, music, locations and reminders. The upgrade only raises the limit of 20 countdowns at a time, and it's also available as a one-time purchase, so you never have to subscribe to anything. With 20 free, currently most of the users never pay at all. And you're right that the counter itself is a quick build, that part was an evening! The rest I've written myself since last October: the widgets, the Watch app, syncing one countdown between two people over iCloud, notifications that arrive when they should, and the images. Whether that's worth having is fair to argue about, it's just not the ten-minute part :) If the app gave you the wrong impression on the pricing, that's on me to fix! Thanks for saying it.
Easy and helpful

Thank you so much, "a simple source of daily joy" is about the nicest way anyone has put it :D Enjoy the countdown, and the trip when it finally gets here!
5 stars! Exactly what I was looking for, and the dev actually cares
I'm using it to count down to an ultramarathon I'm training for, and had a small widget hiccup a couple weeks in when it started showing months instead of days, which wasn't exactly motivating with 57 days to go. Emailed the developer instead of leaving a review, and he got back to me fast, walked me through the fix, and was upfront about what caused it and that he's already changing the default in the next update. That's rare. You can tell this is someone who actually builds for the people using it, not just cranking out features.
If you've got anything you're counting down to, this app nails it. And if you ever run into an issue, know that it’s backed up by someone who cares and listens to feedback. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you so much, that's a lot more than anyone owes a countdown app :D The days-instead-of-months default is going into the next update, as promised! Good luck with the ultramarathon. I hope those days count down at exactly the right speed!
