As Described

Saved a lot of frustration with a family history project. Thanks.

Awful, doesn’t work

Utter tripe. The ads are the brightest thing on the screen and the ‘white’ light which is actually grey and so useless, can’t be adjusted in size as the + and - buttons don’t work. Complete rubbish.

Good for making fillip books

It is good to use as a light box if you want to have a light box, but don’t want to pay the money for one. 4 stars because of ads at the bottom, but overall good app

Response from developer

Btw: you can remove the Ads forever for 99c. Tap on Ads, then Buy.

Not bright enough I’m afraid -

but I was trying to use it for tracing artwork

Paid for and ads wont go away

I paid for the app to have no ads and it still has ads. Is there a way to make them go away?
If you help make the ads go away it will be 5 star rating 💪
Cheers, confused LightBox owner 🧟‍♂️

How does it work?!

In the description it says it allows you to see negatives and slides. HOW??? The video doesn't show you how to do that. How does it work? This gets a zero.

Response from developer

Like a physical light box, you place the negative/slide ON the white areas, and the light that shines through lets you see. Please email support@skycharts.net for any questions.

Don’t waste your time or money

Not user friendly. Maybe it works, but if it does, there are poor instructions, or none at all.

Response from developer

Please see this for instructions: http://www.skycharts.net/?page_id=2301 The usage video is probably the easiest way to describe what the app can do. For any questions or suggestions, please email support@skycharts.net

It works, but....

I use this app to overview 35mm slides. I can fit 12 slides on the iPad screen for reviewing and sorting. The app is hardly useable unless you pay the instore purchase to remove ads, and you have to manually adjust the screen brightness to maximum. It’s not suitable as lighting to rephotograph the slides as the iPad pixels are clearly visible through them under magnification.

Doesn’t work

On an up-to-date i7, I just get a blank screen half black and half white. Oh, but the ads work...

Useful when giving talks

I found this product very useful when I recently gave a talk to fellow pensioners on using a large format camera.

I would have awarded five stars if the product offered an additional feature allowing one to set not only 35mm slides and uncut film but also offered the same features for medium format film of various sizes, but in particular 6x: 6, 7, 8, 9 & 12 centimetres, plus offered those of use who use sheet film the option of 5x4 (being able to choose to display one or more frames depending on the iPad in use) and 5x7 & 10x8 Inches.

Can't get past ads to see anything-greedy app

Greedy app, so many ads never got to see what app does but it keeps popping a box to pay to stop ads and we will show you the app.

Don't waste your money removing ads

The screen doesn't lock can't be used for tracing

Awesome!

Works great for viewing negatives and slides!

It's okay

It's okay but not the best for tracing etc. When I draw a stroke it constantly flashes and moves the plain white background off-screen so I have to stop what I'm doing and bring it back. Also whatever those plus and minus buttons are for, they do nothing for me :/

Ads

This is simply a vehicle for ads. Junk.

Free app a joke

Unusable unless you remove ads

Great!

Works great and love that you can resize and move the white areas, and once done simply disable accidental swipes by disabling changes in the settings! Thanks!

Didn't have the one thing I needed

Turning an iPad into a light box is relatively easy, but using it is the difficult part. Even through paper I find that the touch pad picks up the movements of my hand. So I was hoping someone made an accessible app to turn your iPad into a light box that disables touch movement except in very small specific areas. I was hoping this would be that app. Not so. If you touch the white area it will move and dim. Time to delete and move on.

Response from developer

Please disable the 'allow move/resize' button once you have a screen layout you like. Please see the usage video here: http://scripts.skycharts.net/LightBox-iPad.mp4
