I use it everyday to send my wife my ETA on the drive home. The “hey where are you?” and “when are you coming home?” texts are gone.
Very disappointed
I had very high hopes that this app was going to really work well since it was by MapQuest. But I have now had it over 10 days and I am extremely disappointed with it. The map when it shows one is usually blank the status is at least a day behind most of the time the notifications don’t come through until a day or more after due. I contacted the company asking how to get some things straightened out and it’s four days later and I have yet to hear I will be canceling immediately. I would suggest you really think about it before you put any money down.

We’re sorry—what you described isn’t the experience we want you to have with Lighthouse. Since version 1.5, we’ve released updates to improve background location reliability and notification setup. If you’re willing to try again, please update to version 1.7, and we’ll help you check the recommended iPhone settings for reliable location and alerts. You shouldn’t have waited days for help—reply to your original support thread with review ID 14344574566, and we’ll take it from there.
My kids actually use it
Replaced our family group chat’s endless “where are you?” messages. Clean map, accurate alerts, and On My Way is the feature my teenagers actually use. Setup took two minutes and sharing is permission-based, so nobody feels spied on.
So much less worry!
My parents are getting older. Lighthouse lets sends me info about when they come and go automatically so I’m bothering them all the time to make sure they’re okay! My dad also sends me cute check-ins about fun places he goes. A great way to stay connected and gives me so much peace of mind.
Peace of mind
The app automatically notifies me when my family arrives at designated locations. I no longer need to worry if they forget to tell me they arrived at school. I also like how you can see how much battery is left on their devices.
Nice to see where family is at
It’s cool to see when they are on their way, now I don’t have to wonder or pester them
