Won’t work on phone
When you open the app on the phone the section where you connect your LightUp it doesn’t show the whole menu on phones but still good app keep up the good work.
Pretty good
I use this on my iPad. I build most projects in 10-15 min. I wish there were more projects for Bluetooth Tesla kit.
App doesn’t work on smaller screens
The code editor looks to be designed for iPads and won’t function on iPhone or iPod touch screens.
Such a cool idea but the bugs...ugh
We’re getting locked up on the code screen and can’t do anything with but Morse code manually. It’s such a cool idea but the app needs serious work on iOS.
App crashes, is unresponsive
Fix your app please, and test it on older iPads. Keeps crashing and not responding quickly.

Easy to use and fun. You can create and build with it. You can use your imagination.
Great product
My son loves this! We are using it for summer enrichment. My only complaint is that the directions for the projects are in text format only. I would love to have a read to me option.
Coding input does not fit on iPhone 5/5S
Not compatible with iPad 2 (which some schools have right now) and the coding input does not show up on iPhone 5/5S. Sloppy interface and planning.
My cousins had a great time
I bought a LightUp kit for my young cousins (ages 8 and 10). They really enjoyed the Augmented Reality integration in the app, particularly with the short circuit lesson. This was a great first introduction to electronics.

I've been waiting for this to have more fun with my Lightup kit. It's fun and engaging to play with it using iPhone. I recommend this app for all Lightup fans!

In reality, this is a great tool to teach children about the lies of advertising.
You're in it $100 for the hardware. The hardware relies on this app to at all be meaningfully educational for more than 3 minutes. This app in its current form is beyond flawed.
One is required to follow strict tutorials. The app doesn't properly read the circuits and locks the user out of the coding tab. So instead of an open source tool to teach coding, the app locks the user out of the coding tab and renders the hardware unusable.
This is an A idea executed by a D team.

Crippled app, most everything is locked
Bought the deluxe everything kit from kick starter , but the app is unusable.
Kit is cool, but doesn't meet the potential promised in the kick starter.

Overpriced
For a young child the Edison electronic set is a great intro to electronics but it's shameful this kit costs $49. My 8 year old got this for a gift and he did everything in about 10 mins.
Again, this Edison set is nice but it shouldn't retail for more than $15-20. The app worked just fine for us but it wasn't anything revolutionary and the lessons are very minimal. I expected a lot more for the price.

Interesting, but flawed
Wonderful electronics kit. I was an original funder for it on Kickstarter.
I purchased the large "Pro" kit. That's where the first rub comes in. The app only actively supports the "Edison" and "Tesla" kits. Sure my kids can read between the lines, but support for the kit purchased would have been nice. This however is not the part that make this a two star app.
The major issue is the staged learning design. It leads you though your learning step by step in a rigidly controlled manor. Annoyingly rigid. Each lesson is padlocked to prevent non-linear use. Why?it sure doesn't facilitate discovery.
Now my child had created the first three circuits. The app would not unlock the fourth through no reason we could discern. There is no documentation and no way to override the lock. So now the app portion of the kit is fairly worthless.
Basically this app needs more time in the oven before it's ready to facilitate learning.

Locked content
The available content seems great but for whatever reason I cannot access any of the later Tesla sets. As such, I can only access the first three sets. Even upon completing all three available projects, The later projects all show lock symbols.
There's more to it!
This app is an add-on to a set purchased in a toy store or something. Not a stand alone program. Difficult to rate since I don't have the set.
