Won’t open .dat file
I bought this because Google said it could open & edit .dat files. It refuses. Why?? It’s a text file.

What's missing?
I use this to edit AI responses outside of the email, text or word processor. Very convenient.
If I see something I want to quickly store for later use or reference I use this app. I use Google Keep on my phone but on the iMac I use this app. Its simplicity is the biggest reason I use it.
Great app, but needs a small fix for file exporting!
Thank you for creating such a wonderful and useful text editor app. I really enjoy using it!However, I found a small bug when exporting files to the iOS Files app. When saving a new file to local storage, the app does not automatically add the ".txt" extension. This causes the file to appear greyed out and unopenable in the Apple Files app and other applications. The problem is solved only when I manually type ".txt" at the end of the filename during export. It would be much more user-friendly if the app could automatically append the ".txt" extension to exported files.Thank you again for your hard work and great app! I look forward to future updates.

Lightweight (it’s in the name)
Brilliant notebook app to use, I have to use several as a writer, and this is one of the best I regularly use. Thank you.
Thank You x a Zillion!

Only some file types
Didn’t let me open or edit CSS files although they are essentially plain text.

Perfect
Exactly as advertised. No fuss. Even has option for folders. *chef’s kiss*
Clean & Easy-to-use
This app lives up to its name perfectly - it’s simple to use, a few minimalistic features and clean. For many things I don’t feel I need all the extra flashy features of a word processor but rather just a simple place to type and make sure my indentation is clean and consistent and this does just that. I think it’s a small step up from Apple’s built-in text editor in all the right ways.

Just A Text Editor. Nothing More.
The basic test editor I was searching for a while. Finally I found this one.
哈哈，
需要增加 搜索&替换 功能！
Top wie erwartet
Die App macht genau was sie verspricht, danke!
Straightforward text editor
So far this app is doing what I hoped (I’ve been using it only a few times in the one week since I downloaded it.) This app took a plaintext image transcription created by Google Gemini 3 and retained the layout and spacing. Google Gemini creates transcriptions in a Plaintext format that I could not easily figure out how to get MS Word or Google Docs to retain. This gem did the task by default, no special keys or menu gyrations. Simple copy & paste in to Text Editor.
This is a very good addition to my toolkit.

Very good!
No data collection, no in-app purchases! Finding an app like this in the App Store is becoming increasingly challenging. Kudos to the developer, Erik Wegener, for providing a simple, yet elegant, text editor!
Simple and efficient
Very easy and quick platform that doesn’t necessarily need you to have strong wifi to write on the go and save with no extra fancy stuff.
A great daily substitute for TextEdit
Good work!
