About
Make music for places that feel like a memory.
Liminal Generator pairs generative ambient music with VHS-treated images of quiet, empty spaces. Start a new melody, add a little bass or a lo-fi beat, and shape the sound until the scene feels right.
CREATE YOUR OWN ATMOSPHERE
• Generate warm chord progressions and sparse melodies on your iPhone.
• Add optional basslines and choose from 10 lo-fi drum loops.
• Shape tone, space, tape age, chorus, and speed with tactile controls.
• Swipe through 23 bundled liminal scenes with animated VHS effects.
MAKE A TWO-MINUTE VIDEO
Render your selected scene and music into a square video with VHS texture, a retro timestamp, and a Liminal Generator watermark. When drums are enabled, occasional drum breaks let the keys and bass breathe. Save or share using the iOS share sheet.

What's New in Liminal Generator
1.0.1
September 19, 2026
BREAKS A new toggle in the drums section drops the beat out for a couple of bars, twice over a couple of minutes — live and in your rendered clips. The bass drops with it; the melody plays on. The set powers on The screen now stays dark until you hit play, then wakes up like an old tube television — with the switch click to match. Pausing shuts it back down. Also A lighter default tape age, so things start cleaner. Fixed a smeared band down the right edge of every image.
