$ 50Mcompany couldn’t care less about their app
For a company worth over $50M they could figure out how to make a better app, or at least update their app from 2012. Standard Media Group owns how many news stations across the country, and couldn’t pay a developer enough money to make an app that is more updated than something from 2012? It seriously makes me question about your reporting quality or the quality of anything you produce for that matter. The app is riddled with bugs, voting in yes/no polls either crashes the app or gives you a screen full of html text. The ads placed within articles are downright spam and phishing websites that look like legitimate companies but really steal your information and credit card details. But Standard Media Group gets paid for those ads, and at the end of the day they don’t care what happens to you or your data online. It’s just a super bad look when a supposed news organization hosts ads for literal sham and spam companies. Sometimes even scrolling through reading an article, there will be a pop up that you didn’t click that takes you to even worse websites, the ones that try to automatically start downloads or have those “timers” and spinners that claim you have 60 seconds to claim your millions. It would be one thing if this was like 2012 when this app was released or something, but I’ve had the app for years and it hasn’t changed one bit. Also you will get double notifications for every single article and story they post no matter how you manipulate the settings, so you have to turn them completely off.

Portrait mode video
I will not use this because it encourages portrait mode video. Humans see in landscape mode. Portrait mode is for portraits. Cringeworthy at best , a pox on humanity regularly. Nothing makes me want to tune away faster. Portrait mode video for news reports should be banned!
Finally!
I’ve had another local news app for years, deleting it at least 3 times, dealing with countless crashes, numerous ad pop-ups, difficulty loading and navigating, etc. I finally deleted it for good and decided to try KLKN News 8, (which is the TV news we watch). So glad I did! Right away, no stupid passwords, easy to navigate, concise, well-written stories w/o a lot of opinions!!! They even know how to spell! Videos load easily and has news, weather, sports and news from my county. Love it! Highly recommended. Thank you for this great app!

Not thinking like a user
I had to delete the app. I’m not waiting through a 30 second ad to read something that takes 20 seconds. And I hate that it constantly goes back to an old story before going to the story list after reading a story from notifications, sometimes before even going to the story I clicked in notifications! And the news is often written by someone who apparently knows less about it than I do, like they are just trying to come up with things they think people will click. Apparently the app is so bad that it won’t let you create a nickname, so you can’t post, if you’ve written a bad review.
