When the app first came out, everything was great. New features were added, everything evolved and became more user-friendly. Then the app, which had been free for a long time, became paid—okay, people made peace with that. Then the 'games' with payments and billing periods started: they removed the weekly subscription, then brought it back, then removed the monthly one, then the weekly one became unreasonably expensive... But now we've reached the peak. This winter—in February, I think—I bought an annual subscription. But I accidentally tapped the purchase button twice, and the money was charged to my account twice. I contacted Apple Support to get a refund, and they issued one for just one of the two transactions. In the process, they canceled the subscription entirely. And they stated they couldn't help restore it, even though it had been paid for. Then I reached out to the app’s own support. Once. Twice. And, I think, even a third time. With official emails and proofs of the situation. Did anyone answer me? No. Was my issue resolved? No. Was I able to use the subscription even once since buying it? No. Did they get my money? Yes. Did they refund it to me in full? Also no. What do we end up with? I paid for a subscription that was canceled almost immediately, the app support ignores emails, and I'm being asked to pay them yet again—a third time. Disgusting.

Uses to be amazing but now every single feature is blocked by a paywall. I can't remove a background yet alone save an image. This app is good for nothing now.

it’s so disappointing to see what was once a great app turn into nothing more than a cash grab. i understand the need to have “premium features” that enable the company to keep the lights on but to keep the “export” and “print” options behind a paywall??? absolutely ridiculous and greedy. the fact that there’s a limit to how many active projects you can have at a time is something i never considered would end up requiring a subscription. just sad

Spent days on a project on this app, but when it came time to save and export the project, guess what? This app forces payment for pro version. Cannot save my work at all, in any format, without payment. Ridiculous. Wasted my time.

Money suck of burning hot garbage
I’m sure this app is great for avid users but I only needed it for a couple of images and so I was using the free version and I am not a fan of playing the game of “free for 7 days” subscription preview. I would subscribe if I found it been easier to use. I had to use AI to help me navigate within this app because it is not intuitive. Even AI struggled. But NOW I just learned that the last HOURS I have spent editing an image have been a waste because I cannot export the image without upgrading to Pro. Gee, thanks.

Ruined by greed
This used to be great but greedy developers stripped out all of the features so they could sell them back to you as a subscription. Additionally if you use this app it will prevent the app switcher from functioning until you restart your iPad.

Wanted to try before I buy
I just wanted to give this ago to see if I can create decals for Gran Turismo, I’m very new to this so don’t see the point in purchasing anything before knowing if I can even do it. The trial period isn’t long enough to even get through a YouTube tutorial. I’m not happy to sign up even if you do get a seven day free trial because I know these apps can make it super hard to cancel. Very frustrating because I feel this could have been something I could have gotten into and purchased but I can’t risk that money incase it’s beyond me. I feel this is shortsighted from the creator.

Pretty good, export locked behind pro
This app has some really nice features but for some reason the ability to export your stuff to print, etc. is locked behind pro. I’ll have to resort to screenshots for now.
Really, I have to ask why it’s behind pro, if from many of the reviews I’ve seen I’ve heard that it’s simply pushed people away. I think that most people who pay for pro are doing it for the actual pro features, not simply for export.

I had purchased Vectornator, and now I have to pay a subscription? Either give me the app I paid for or refund my money please.
AI files doesn’t work
Your first image shows AI. I tried to open two files I downloaded from Adobe Stock and it doesn’t open at all. Disappointment.

Unexpected Charges Against Free Projects

I installed Linearity Curve to learn vector editing as a complete beginner. I downloaded several SVG files to my iPad for practice.
I did not open the files from within Linearity or import them into the app. I simply went to the folder in the iPad Files app and tapped an SVG so I could view it. Because Linearity had automatically associated itself with SVG files, it opened instead of a normal preview.
Each time this happened, it counted against my limited free project allowance. There was no warning that simply opening an SVG file from the Files app would use one of my free projects, and nothing during the initial setup indicated that I should change any file associations or permissions to avoid this.
As a first-time user trying to learn a new skill, this was frustrating. If opening your own SVG files from the Files app consumes free projects, that should be made clear before it happens. Unfortunately, this experience was enough for me to uninstall the app and look for another vector editor.
