Had an issue but team resolved

Issue

I updated this app today. And it’s not working anymore. Before the update it was totally fine. What should I do? I need this application.

Poor UI + mistakes

The UI could be so much clearer (and cleaner) with only a few simple changes.
The translations also have mistakes.
Good start, but not ready for general public.

Stupid icon!

I haven't used this app in years and the ugly icon is sitting at the TOP of my iPad Home Page! What's up with that? I left a review a long time ago about not being able to figure out how to use it. DELETING now.

Stealing Your Hard Earned Money

I got your app through AppAdvice Daily and would get the lifetime for free. Well I downloaded it, completed the onboarding and selected life time $0.00. And then you still charged me $39.99 for a yearly. Well I have put in a request for a refund and I will be spreading the news about this app and is developers.

False advertisement

Twice it’s been advertised on apps advise and both time there is no option for free for life .

Pinyin in chinese

The app overall is great, but the pinyin which is crucial for learning chinese (mandarin) is not readable right now, hope it will fixed in the next update

Not so free

This appeared on Apps go free and it said you get a lifetime subscription for free, but actually it activated an expensive subscription that if you didn’t carefully cancel you would have to pay for. Thankfully when I uninstalled the app I got a warning and checked. Also the list of words chosen isn’t high frequency and do not come as useful phrases, so not very good.

App advice bait

Lifetime access for $0 was advertised on App Advice. But when you tap on the $0 lifetime button to purchase this option, it charges your credit card. Very unethical.

The interface is very nice

I would say that it is a very good, modern app of high quality for those who are learning a new language and are students, A very useful app for everyday use.

Auto charge without consent

BE AWARE! The app was offering free lifetime membership, but it charged the annual fee automatically. I’m unable to get a refund and there is no way to cancel it.

Deceptive app

The app was offered as free for life subscription. Then turned around and charged me 34.99$. The app has various names and shows up as Lingopic on my phone. It does not let me unsubscribe from settings either.

No deal

Chose a lifetime free option (in one day deal) and fortunately caught the subscription charge and cancelled before it kicked in. Bad form guys!

Nicely laid out

Nice to ise

Beautifully made, but…

I learned Russian in college but have since forgotten a lot of it. I thought to start at the elementary level to see if I needed to move up to intermediate.

While the interface is absolutely gorgeous and well presented. There wasn’t much thought put into learning at the elementary level.

For starters, it would be more helpful to learn the language by introducing the alphabet and the sounds they make, otherwise you are just staring at a character trying to figure out which letter makes what sound (applies mostly to languages with Cyrillics and non-western characters). Since I already know the characters and sounds it this didn’t bother me, but for a total beginner it would be difficult to follow along.

I love the fact that you can hear the word and when you press play a second time it slows the speed of the word being said. I wish there could be a third press to slow the word down some more by syllable. Some of the longer words need to be sounded out in order to get the pronunciation correct.

I find using the word in a sentence makes a great addition to the app, but again, the sentence is written in a foreign language and the app doesn’t provide a translation, so it’s essentially useless. If that could be addressed, corrected, and a pronunciation of the entire sentence added, it would make this added bonus perfect.

I also love that they note if the word is an adjective or noun. I haven’t gotten far enough into the program to see if they threw in any verbs yet. I have found that learning the verbs in any language and some basic nouns can usually get you point across in a hurry.

I haven’t tried the intermediate or advanced levels but I’ll switch to Spanish for that since I’m fluent and report back.

Conclusion, save your money this app needs a bit more work if you are trying to learn languages that have foreign characters to you.
But if you are learning a language you already know the alphabet to, then just a few more tweaks and this advanced flash card set will be perfect.

There’s a reason why Berlitz & Rosetta Stone have been the leaders in the field, if you are going to spend a lot of money, personally I would spend it there.

Easy to use

Easy to use! You can see and hear the words as well as pick out words you want to practice. What’s interesting is that some words have different meanings than those on Duolingo. I use them both.

Pourriez-vous ajouter les vocalisations en langue arabe ?

Merci beaucoup
