Perpect app to learn Japanese Yomigata

Thank you James for your uber-fast feedback. After the latest update (6.01?) the app works perfectly fine. I want to delete my previous comment but don’t know how to do so.

I would like to recommend this app for Japanese intermediate learners who want to improve yomigata reading. I am personally fluent in understanding the meaning of Chinese characters (kanji) and Japanese verbs but mostly not aware of their pronounciation (yomigata). There are a couple of desktop plugins that offers yomigata with dictionary function. But in the app store (iOS,) this one is the only one that offers such features.

Response from developer

Hi jesuies! Sorry for the delay – I didn't receive a notification of the review. Thank you very much for reporting this! I've received a crash report (likely from you, although it doesn't show me who sent it) and have just looked through it. I think I can see a way that any users who signed in using phone-based sign-in, rather than email-based sign-in, might receive a crash on startup due to a change made in v3.0.1 to the start-up flow. I'm pushing a fix now in v3.0.2; once that's been through review (usually goes through in about 48 hours), please do try it! Really sorry for the inconvenience, but thank you for reporting the issue before it affected more users! Once v3.0.2 comes out, please do tell me whether it fixes things! Also: as a workaround for v3.0.1, I believe you can uninstall and re-install LinguaBrowse, and re-do the phone-based sign-in and it'll work until the next time LinguaBrowse asks you to log in (which will simply be the next time it re-opens); or alternatively, switch to email-based sign-in if you'd prefer. Again, sorry for the trouble!

Update

Thanks for responding and allowing those who purchased the app before the subscription model was implemented to continue using the app. Your update fixed this problem, so I’ve changed my rating accordingly.

Hi boxofkittens13, Thank you for purchasing the In-App Purchase for removing the advert banner and supporting LinguaBrowse before it converted to a subscription model. Sorry for not responding sooner; I did not receive notification of this review at the time. I've just updated LinguaBrowse to permit access for users who have previously purchased the ad banner removal IAP. The feature should be active as of LinguaBrowse v2.1.1. Could you please confirm whether it works (using the account with which you purchased that IAP)? I have no way to test it, as the IAP is no longer purchasable. EDIT: Thank you for the updated review! :)

So helpful!

This is a great app. I've been looking for something like this for my phone to keep up on my Chinese reading comp. It's so convenient to have the pinyin on for words I have forgotten!
