Still requires immediate login

Still requires immediate signup/signin on app launch, with no way to bypass it.

Frankly, I’m not sure how this passed App Review. I’m pretty sure Apple requires apps to provide some sort of basic functionality without signing in.

Not ready for prime time

As far as usability the maps are laggy. It only seems to support ChargePoint and Shell chargers. It does not support Electrify America or EVgo. You must register for the app before you have even had a chance to evaluate it at all. It does not support registering with Apple Mail. The app does not say which charging or automobile companies are supporting this app. There is no direct email for contacting the app developer. Very shady. Needs work. If you need great EV apps, check out PlugShare or ABRP.

Response from developer

Thanks for your review! We're sorry that the app doesn't meet your expectations yet though. Lithium is still in the Beta stage of roll-out and we will be releasing performance enhancements and other improvements in each new app version. In the latest version (1.1) we have improved our map performance and resolved the lag issue that you experienced. While today we only support ChargePoint and Shell Recharge, we are currently in the process of onboarding EVgo and their stations should be available in the Lithium app soon. We will continue to add more networks as our agreements and validation with them are finalized. Our signup process was designed to streamline and enhance the in-app experience. Signing up it the only way that some of our unique features can be enabled and accelerates the process to activate a charge at a physical charging station. However, we can understand wanting to try the app out first or use an alternative signup method and will consider these points for potential improvements in future app versions. The intention of mentioning Lithium's backing by larger corporations was to legitimize the app as it gains familiarity. The name of the energy provider and automaker were excluded to allow us to build up Lithium as a distinct, independent brand; not to be cryptic. We completely see your point and understand how it could be perceived this way, but assure you that there is absolutely nothing "shady" going on here. If you have any questions or more feedback you would be willing to provide you can contact us directly at info@lithiumchargenetwork.com. You can also find this contact information in the "About us" page, selectable from the main menu within the Lithium app. Thanks! -Lithium Support Team

Didn’t know Car or Model Year

The app didn’t know my car and didn’t find any chargers in the DFW area. Until it get better data pretty much useless

Response from developer

Thanks for your review! We're sorry that you had trouble getting started with the app though. We know we missed some makes and models in our first release, but have updated and expanded our vehicle list in our update to app version 1.1. Let us know if your model still isn't there and we'll add it! We do have supported chargers in the DFW area, but we're sorry you couldn't find them. In app version 1.1 we have implemented map performance improvements that should make them easier to find and we have plans to further enhance our map by version 1.3. We are in the Beta stage of our rollout and are taking all feedback into serious consideration. It is our commitment at Lithium Charge to continuously improve with each new app version. If you have any other feedback or thoughts on where we should focus on improving feel free to contact us directly at info@lithiumchargenetwork.com. Thanks! - Lithium Support Team

Hopefully gets better

Love the concept, but the execution isn’t there. None of the fast chargers in my area are listed.

Also, who is the “major energy supplier” mentioned in the description? Why not just tell us what the company is. Makes it feel sketchy.

Response from developer

Thanks for your review! Sorry the app doesn't meet your expectations yet though. Lithium is still in the Beta stages of rolling out and we will be developing improvements, including expanding the number of accessible charging stations, in each new version release. Currently, the Lithium app lists fast chargers from ChargePoint and Shell Recharge. We are in the process of onboarding EVgo and their stations should be available in the app soon. The intention of mentioning Lithium's backing by larger corporations was to legitimize the app as it gains familiarity.
