User reviews

No longer works

The free edition doesn’t work with iOS 17. The app closes immediately when trying to view a live photo.

Clunky

So terrible and if you hit the wrong button, you are punished and not given a second chance.

Great app-when it works

I’ve used this for a few months, to capture stills from a trail cam and from my cycle cam, where I don’t want to store most of the video.
Sometimes it works great. But other times it simply loses the still image and it isn’t saved to photos.
Major improvement would be to save the metadata (esp time) of the original video

Image quality

The image quality falls drastically after you select a frame and save it in the camera roll. Nice app but not sure it's worth to pay for it. I only downloaded it because it was on sale for "free."

Extracts low res photos

Works, and the UI is actually pretty decent, but the photos it extracts are low res compared to the original. On an iPhone 7+, the original live photo (taken with the back camera) is 4032x3024, while the photos extracted by this app are 1308x980. iOS allows you to select a different frame and keep the original resolution, so it seems that it’s possible to do, just this app doesn’t support it.
