User reviews

Works great

The app works totally fine, it ONLY works on school pictures that come from this company. If you expect it to make random pictures come alive then you will be disappointed.

No clue why people rate it bad

I was told by my photographer that my photos have video slideshows embedded inside of them and can be viewed with the Live Portrait app. I downloaded the app, pointed at my photo and like magic, a video slideshow of 50 other photos showed up. Everyone I show it to gets amazed. Having said that, I see in the reviews people not understanding that this app ONLY works with photos that is in the Live Portrait system. Your photographer should be more clear! Stop leaving this app bad reviews because you’re unable to figure out how to properly use it the way it’s intended to be used. Anyways, for everyone else I highly recommend you go to a photographer that specializes in Live Portraits to get the best results.

Well

I saw this on a video, and well it’s fake, and the reviews are probably too.

Huh?

What’s the point if I have to use your photos?

FAQ

What does the Live Portrait app do?

The Live Portrait app allows printed photographs to unlock and play embedded video clips. It creates an experience that is between a static photo and a full video, making printed memories more engaging and interactive.

How does the app make photos come alive?

The app's software analyzes the printed image, creating a mathematical model based on its visual elements. This model is then matched against a database to find the corresponding video, which is then displayed as if it's playing on top of the physical print.

Is the app free to use?

The app scanner itself is free to download and use for viewing. However, the description mentions a subscription-based pricing model for photographers and creators who wish to enable this feature for their printed photos.

What are the requirements to use the Live Portrait app?

To use the app, you need an Apple device with a rear-facing camera running iOS 14 or above. A strong internet or Wi-Fi connection is also recommended for the best experience.

Can I scan any printed photo with this app?

No, the app scanner will only work with printed pictures that have had Live Portrait videos specifically enabled. You cannot scan regular printed photos and expect them to come to life.
