One of my favourite features is its ability to convert any video into a live photo, no matter how long it is. This has been a game-changer for me, especially when I was creating live wallpapers for iOS 17. The ease with which I could transform my favourite videos into dynamic live wallpapers added a personal touch to my device.
But that’s not all Live Studio can do. It also excels at turning videos into animated GIFs, which are perfect for sharing on social media. The quality of these GIFs is impressive, and they always manage to capture the essence of the original video. Additionally, the app can convert burst images into GIFs, which is a fantastic feature for those who love to capture fast-paced moments.

This item does not work on iPhone 15 pro max and I am using 18.5 update. I tried a number of times to convert video to Live Photo and it does not work. When you try to get refund.. he or she refuses to give you back $1.99 for your purchase.Please use your credit card if you decide to take a chance on this app , so you can make a claim with your credit card provider.. please also do not use your debit card for this purchase. The one star is used just to submit my honest review.Keep hunting apple community!

Live photos generated by this app CANNOT be used for wallpapers on newer iPhones/iOS since motion is not supported.

La imagen si funciona como Live Photo, pero a la hora de ponerla como wallpaper iOS no lo permite. Quizás sea porque el formato de salida es JPEG, ya que las imágenes que si permite poner como wallpaper son en formato HEIF. Espero y eso se pueda solucionar

Pleasant to use, but feature-minimal
Compared to all the apps for working with live photos that rely on absurd subscriptions and intrusive ads, this is a breath of fresh air!
Unfortunately, there are many features it doesn’t have which I would expect or hope it would.
Some functionality that doesn’t seem to be supported as of this review (Oct. 2021):
Video->Live
- cropping
- specify resolution
- trim video clip
Live->GIF
- back-and-forth looping
- tweening
- trim video
I’ve only used this app for a few minutes so far, so there are probably many other things I haven’t looked for (and I haven’t explored all the types of conversion it does support).
Verdict:
If this app does what you need it to, I highly recommend it! It seems to work great, it looks quite good, and it’s pretty lightweight and speedy.

Thank you for the in depth review. You are spot on! A few things: the app allows you to choose the resolution when you convert to a GIF however it defaults to the video resolution when converting videos and Live Photos. This is because the majority of the time, the video quality at the highest setting is works great. For cropping video, you can always use the video cropper built into to Photos app that ships with iOS. I didn’t want to reinvent the wheel because Apple does it so well.
