Random issue

Changes colour so it’s discoloured when saved as a gif or still frame but the colour is retained for the movie? Needs sorting but other than that normally 5/5 for saving Live Photos with retained quality

Nope

No longer works.

Abandonware

Hasn’t been updated in two years. App crashes if you load a Live Photo into the GIF maker—even from the long press shortcut from the Home Screen.

No longer needed. Use Shortcuts instead.

This is a great app, but there’s no a shortcut that does this. Go to Shortcuts and search for “Make GIF.” Add the shortcut and turn on “Show in Share Sheet.” Then you can use the share button to run the shortcut from Photos. Enjoy!

Changed

Used to work seamlessly, but now force closes when I’m trying to make a video into a GIF

FAQ

What does Lively do?

Lively allows you to convert your iPhone's Live Photos into animated GIFs and movies. You can then share these creations across various social media platforms and messaging apps.

What editing features are available?

The app offers extensive editing capabilities including trimming the animation, playing it backward, auto-reversing the loop, and controlling the playback speed. You can also adjust the GIF size to make it smaller.

How much does Lively cost?

The app is free to download and use, and you can export your creations with a watermark. To remove the watermark, a single in-app purchase is available.

What are the compatibility requirements?

To capture Live Photos, you need an iPhone 6S/6S Plus or newer. However, you can still use the app on older iPhones by receiving Live Photos from friends via iMessage.

Can I save specific moments from my Live Photo?

Yes, you can pick a single frame from the video part of your Live Photo to save. This is useful if you want to capture a specific moment, like a child's movement, right at the time of the shot.
