Momento
Hi Jeff, first and foremost you’re doing a great job with building an app that helps people create moments and memories and share them.
I came across Momento with excitement to capture summer stories and memories. I started with a three day trial last week, and I was accidentally charged with the $49.99 annual membership, (which is my mistake & I’m trying to reverse this at the present time) - this is on me, when I was signing up for the “3-Day trial” I didn’t intend to immediately sign up for the annual until I had been able to use it, get to know it a little bit, learn the functionality and ultimately share it via different platforms.
Three days later, when I went to cancel, I realized I was timed out and charged for the annual of which I have contacted Apple with a request to refund this.
Not because I don’t want it for the year, it’s just that I would have committed to a smaller membership. To start with.
From what I did experience, one of my highest recommendations, (and on a personal note, I have been in professional marketing field for large for-profit and small nonprofits that span construction and design, healthcare, higher education, and the beauty and wellness industry for over 25 years) so I know a thing or two about designing stories through imagery and using endless platforms :)
It was actually our creative director who had shared with me Momento! I was most excited and eager to set up the trial and learn more.
While documenting a summer trip, I realized that once I added my photos, I wasn’t able to edit the photo themselves within the app, nor was it able to indicate or mark photos that I had “already used” in the project making it difficult to sort out my photo collage.
That lead to duplicates in the actual reel and no way of being able to go back edit/delete/remove them. That became very frustrating.
A lot of time spent.
That would be my largest Takeaway is that once photos are added into the app and then you begin to design your actual reel or project that there’s some way to indicate which photos have been pulled into the design & which versions is still sitting in the gallery.
From Shutterfly to Meta, I believe that the customer is accustomed to having a visual way of seeing which photos they are using, as well as having an opportunity to edit them/ crop them / remove or delete them.
This could be a miss on my behalf, but I was actively searching for these options, and this could be one of the concerns among other customers, possibly.
I’ve really sincerely appreciate the personalized note that popped up requesting the review. We live in a very transactional world right now and to have the personalization makes it feel like a different interaction. I want to support you. Thanks! Meg
