What is this?!

Normally apps like this are super intuitive and you can easily figure out how to make the thing you wanted to make. Not with this. The button labels don’t even make sense. I never created anything, call it user error, but I couldn’t even find anything on Google to help me
figure this out. Terrible experience, cancelling my subscription asap.

Scam. Nothing works unless you pay an exorbitant monthly subscription

Complete scam

Momento

Hi Jeff, first and foremost you’re doing a great job with building an app that helps people create moments and memories and share them.

I came across Momento with excitement to capture summer stories and memories. I started with a three day trial last week, and I was accidentally charged with the $49.99 annual membership, (which is my mistake & I’m trying to reverse this at the present time) - this is on me, when I was signing up for the “3-Day trial” I didn’t intend to immediately sign up for the annual until I had been able to use it, get to know it a little bit, learn the functionality and ultimately share it via different platforms.

Three days later, when I went to cancel, I realized I was timed out and charged for the annual of which I have contacted Apple with a request to refund this.

Not because I don’t want it for the year, it’s just that I would have committed to a smaller membership. To start with.

From what I did experience, one of my highest recommendations, (and on a personal note, I have been in professional marketing field for large for-profit and small nonprofits that span construction and design, healthcare, higher education, and the beauty and wellness industry for over 25 years) so I know a thing or two about designing stories through imagery and using endless platforms :)

It was actually our creative director who had shared with me Momento! I was most excited and eager to set up the trial and learn more.

While documenting a summer trip, I realized that once I added my photos, I wasn’t able to edit the photo themselves within the app, nor was it able to indicate or mark photos that I had “already used” in the project making it difficult to sort out my photo collage.

That lead to duplicates in the actual reel and no way of being able to go back edit/delete/remove them. That became very frustrating.
A lot of time spent.

That would be my largest Takeaway is that once photos are added into the app and then you begin to design your actual reel or project that there’s some way to indicate which photos have been pulled into the design & which versions is still sitting in the gallery.

From Shutterfly to Meta, I believe that the customer is accustomed to having a visual way of seeing which photos they are using, as well as having an opportunity to edit them/ crop them / remove or delete them.

This could be a miss on my behalf, but I was actively searching for these options, and this could be one of the concerns among other customers, possibly.

I’ve really sincerely appreciate the personalized note that popped up requesting the review. We live in a very transactional world right now and to have the personalization makes it feel like a different interaction. I want to support you. Thanks! Meg

Muito legal e útil

Top!

Perfeito!!

Colecionando momentos!

Photographer

Momento is one of my favorite apps and it makes it so easy to add GIFS to my clients galleries.

Reliable and easy to use

This app makes it real easy for me to create videos or gifs to use for social media or websites.

Basically point and shoot and the app identifies the sequential pictures and sets everything up.

Can’t be simpler.

Paywall

Can’t save a gif without paying

Subscription app for GIFs

The app page makes it look like you can at least use basic features- but it’s actually useless without a subscription. This is getting ridiculous.

Easy and Funcional! Great user UI

This app has made editing photos and videos into GIFs so much easier and simple, it’s worth the money for a yearly subscription.

Good

Good 👍

Clunky limiting UI with no instructions

I downloaded this for a quick one-off project, like I’m guessing a lot of people do. As a brand new user, the experience was confusing and kind of annoying.

A few specifics:

• Photo access: The app constantly nags me to allow full library access.
• Text editor: Adding text was hit or miss. Sometimes it’d show two lines, then collapse to one line that ran off the edge of the gif. And if I changed the font, left the editor, and came back, the font change stuck, but the selector still showed the default font name. Confusing.
• Settings view: When adjusting saturation, hue, etc., the window was so small I could only see two settings at a time.
• Video-to-gif frame rate: I tried to cut a 2-minute video down to a short gif, and it looks like the app dropped it to about 1 frame per second. I trimmed to the last 10 seconds and ended up with 9 frames total.

Momento seems built more around auto-generating gifs (“Momentos”) from your existing photo library, and maybe it’s good at that. But that’s a narrow use case, and it doesn’t count for much when actually editing a gif is this much of a pain.

Not the best

One of the Best!

We all are trying to find interesting ways to create and post media. I have downloaded at lot of apps...and most don’t do what they advertise, even with a subscription.

Momento is the real deal! Easy, affordable and does what it says. I have been able to create some really great digital assets. Also LOVE that they continue to update the app as all there new social media platforms pop up.

Still one of my absolute favs!
