Not a fan of the new format

Works ok but not as quick and straightforward as it was before new format.

Wacky weather

I am in Rossland, BC Canada and it’s 26c, tomorrow it’s supposed to be 19C. But tonight is the story -49C. How does that happen? Are we on the moon?

Absolutely stunning and incredibly useful

Living Earth is the most beautiful weather and world clock app I have ever used. The live 3D simulation of the earth and moon with real-time cloud tracking is mesmerizing to look at.

Not as good as it used to be.

Was a really good app for many years. Had a very clean interface and nicely organized weather information you could bring up very quickly.
Now it’s just a cluttered mess.

Not a nice app anymore

Not liking this new version at all, not user friendly like the old one which was the only one I liked. Please bring back the old one, much better layout

Lost music as alarm option

I loved this app especially the alarm clock feature until recently. I was previously able to choose a song from my music collection to use as an alarm clock. Then suddenly the alarm auto switched to one of the sounds that come with the app. I don’t even have the option to select music from my library anymore. I even downloaded the app on a different iPad. I also can only select from the pre-installed sounds and have no option to select from my Apple library of music.

Gorgeous

Fave weather app for years just cause it’s so dang pretty and recently it’s been adding features that make it competitive with any other weather app based on weather UI features as well

Great Update

Been using Living Earth for over a decade now. So glad to see the developers haven’t yet let go of this simple yet masterpiece of a weather app.

My go to weather app

I usually use a trifecta of weather sources to see what my future holds, but even amongst the three, this app I, more often than not, find to be the most accurate. And the fact it is a gorgeous display that you can see the realtime clouds, sun and moon is just the cherry on top! Especially if you watch the weather across several cities or travel a lot, this app is a must have. It’s just so easy to see at a glance across the globe.

The recent “improvements” have ruined it for me.

I loved this app as much for the animated views of earth as for the weather information. The app is now so cluttered (especially on the iPhone) that I cringe whenever I use it. The uniqueness has been lost, and the beauty of the living earth has been traded for a redesign that hardly differs from that of any other weather app.

Don’t Bother with this App

I’ve been trying really hard to get used to the new update, but it’s just too visually confusing. Definitely designed by someone who doesn’t actually use it for everyday life.
I updated again today with hope for some clarity. No. No improvements. A little moon doesn’t make this a better app.

Love the new update

Thought they had forgotten about us and it’s always been on my devices, but this new update with temperature labels on the globe, moon settings and an enhanced weather pane is fantastic. Thanks devs!

Become cluttered

After years and years of satisfactory use I must cancel this app as it became absurdly cluttered after the last update.
I need a simple and easy to use app for a quick weather check not a weather research tool with pesky charts and graphs and whatnot.
Bye bye.

New updates

What was one of the best apps for weather is now one of the worst. Tiny writing, you need to leave the screen to find the wind velocity. Someone needed to fix something that wasn’t broken,

Used to love

Like many others, I loved the app until the recent UI overhaul. It’s very pretty and looks nice, but the easy functionality was removed. It used to be easy to see the hour by hour forecast for the day by tapping and expanding. Now you see a graph with small numbers. The worst part for me is the tiny blue precipitation percentage numbers on a dark background. They’re not easy to read. I understand progress but I believe the changes made make this app weaker in what it did best: show the weather!

I’ll stick around for a while hoping for some improvements, but I will likely switch to an alternative.

Thanks for the years of a great app and what had been my most used weather app (in all seriousness)!

Please give option for old pre update layout!

A really good and trusted weather app that I had used in preference to apples own version for well over 3 years. Greeted with a beautiful globe on start up and weekly overview from the off. Where it stood out though was the simplicity being able to touch a specific day to see a hourly breakdown line by line giving all the essentials I needed (chance of precipitation, temp cloud cover etc) at a glance that could be deciphered in under 5 seconds. Now (after an major update) they have changed the interface so that it is no longer this apps USP but now looks more like a clone of apple weather app 😞. It is now longer winded to discern the basic information and even opening one of the many options does not give clear unambiguous information only an overview and guess.

Please developers if you read these reviews, please, please, please add an option to allow users to revert back to the pre update version with its clearly defined hour by hour views and I will give it 5*.

UI Update - Not for me

The pictured UI for the app is the old UI. It is was simple and expanded vertically to show two hour forecast blocks. Their new UI looks like every other weather app, busy with too much going on and not what I want. The earth part is still pretty, but it’s not the app I paid for…

New update fail

I get that apps have to keep evolving and be refreshed. The beauty of the Living Earth app was it’s simplicity: a clean interface and not overloaded with data and bells and whistles I wasn’t looking for. Keep it simple folks!

Brilliant app

Still one of my favourite apps to show cloud formations over the Atlantic heading in our direction.

Really nice looking app. Used it for nearly a decade now and still keep going to it.

Only thing I would like to see is the sun when zoomed out.

Finally an update after a very long time

Been using Living Earth for over a decade and boy am I happy to see that the developers are still on it and haven’t abandoned it. Love the new UI. May Living Earth live forever ♥️👌
