Asking for to purchase extras when recording live set!

Asking to purchase extras in the middle of recording a live set when I’m logged in! I’ve already purchased what I want! Absolute joke!

that‘s a kids toy

The App is a kids toy and is not recommended for professional use. Until the app actually works, you have to restart the ubridge-app on the MacBook and the the LK-App on the iPhone what feels like 1000 times, which is pretty annoying. It‘s then up to chance wether the MIDI data from the controller is actually sent reliably. It would be a perfect tool in theory, but unfortunately it only works by chance, or not at all…so far just one star…

Inexpensive, yet feature-laden!

Inexpensive, yet feature-laden!

Originally bought as Ableton controller, now an irreplaceable midi music making tool

Like the title says I originally bought this to control Ableton, which it does, but what I didn’t expect I would be using so regularly, is the way it lets me compose music to send to various plugins and instruments, both software and hardware, from within something like AUM. I write the notes in LK and then decide which channels to send them too. I can also send multiple notes to the same channel and split them within LK to send separately within AUM.

It really is a beautiful experience to create notes with LK, and it also has automatic music generation and the ability to tweak existing notes slightly in new and random ways. This helps get me up and running more quickly too as I can just hit auto generate based on the notes specified, and LK generates either the chords or a melody which can then be sent to different outputs at once. Like for example I can run say a few different loops, like a drum pattern, a bass pattern, or a melody, all within the same window of LK, and have the basics of a full track up and running really quickly, and output it to different instruments, drum machines, or analog synths, or whatever really, without me having to spent ages on each element, or using multiple instances of another app to create and run the same amount of midi tracks sent to different instruments. Then I can go back later once everything is up and running and spent more time on what I need to.

There’s also lots of other features too like custom midi controller layouts, arps, and other useful things, all very capable of sending advanced controls to different locations. I used to use different instances of Drambo to send midi to my instruments, and occasionally still do, but compared to LK the process is just too basic as LK allows for more complex routing off the bat, and has a more elegant interface that allows for more flexibility making music. I really like this app and hope the updates keep coming as this is a very useful tool.

Missing tools and capabilities/ no refund

The app is missing most of the tools that you may need for a digital midi controller. Even with the full purchase. You can’t just use it as a trusted tool. At the same time it is more expensive and does way less than most of its competitors! And at the same time they don’t accept refund requests! So you end up with useless expensive non refundable app. Search for better alternatives before falling for this.

Enfin

Bravo

Response from developer

Bonne musique !

Great for Ableton users!

Awesome app, but needs a small tweak Fits my Ableton workflow like a charm! My only issue is accidental touches while scrolling. Adding a two-finger scroll mode would make the experience much smoother. Keep up the great work!

Molto Funzionale

Best controller app I’ve found

Don’t usually write reviews but really impressed with this app for controlling Ableton on MacBook. Once connection is set up via Ubridge it works a treat. Will be trying out with MPC desktop and other software. Mainly used for keys, pads and chords, rather than clip launching. Can see it replacing my Korg Nanokey Studio - with the laptop at least - one less thing to carry when travelling!

Love this app Need CC’s

I’ve been using this app for a little while now and it is so useful. I mainly use the matrix for triggering notes in AUM. I have plenty of tools for automating and modulating CC’s like MLFO for example, but there are times when I just need to record CC’s from a midi controller. In this case, I end up needing to use Atom 2 for example. And if I’m going to use Atom 2 I almost feel like I don’t want to use yet another app like LK to sequence notes when I can already sequence notes and CC’s in Atom 2. I prefer the Ableton clip launching style that LK uses, but sometimes it’s just too many apps when I need to also automate CC’s. I love this app. I use it most of the time,.. but not all the time. Not when I’m really serious about recording my final mix. I would be ecstatic if this feature was added. You have a fantastic application here. It’s an (mostly) essential application for me.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review and feedback. LK already supports CC messages within its clips. Have you checked the Velocity, Probability, and Automations sections of the LK manual under the Matrix page? https://www.imaginando.pt/products/lk-ableton-live-and-midi-controller/help/matrix You can enable Automation mode, where you can add CC lanes and draw automation nodes for each lane. When you play a clip, the automations are sent along with the notes. You can also record automations from external sources. Apart from automations, you can also use Clip Actions to send CC automations. Just long-press a clip and tap Clip Actions to access them. If you have any questions about automations, please feel free to reach out to us through our website that we will happily assist you. Best regards

good stuff

please update the ui to look more moder 🤓😏

Can Not Connect via midi to ableton

No matter what I try in the App and ableton and also try to find online i can Not Connect the app via usb c cable in Midi Mode To get recognized from ableton. Live Mode works but unfortunately you can Not edit Values for the knobs. I want to use the xy pad but it is upside down on Vertical Axis

Response from developer

In MIDI mode, LK modules work as general MIDI controllers, and you’ll need to route each module’s output to Ubridge and then use it in Ableton. Could you please be more specific about the knob values you’re referring to? The Matrix module allows you to control the knobs of the loaded devices. Which module are you trying to use in MIDI mode? If possible, please reach out through our website so we can assist you with the issues you’re experiencing. Best regards

Best Ableton control surface

Bravo!

Response from developer

Amazing

Quality, powerfullness and great design. No words….

Too complex

It will not play the keyboard and no clear guide to connect it to Ableton - i paid for this $7.99 TO “UNLOCK” KEYBOARD but nothing has changed
- Useless -

Lots of other things to download in order to use this.

You must download multiple programs on your computer for the midi to be configured. First you must download the Ubridge, then a virtual midi driver. Tried using a cord and it wasn’t detecting my device. Big waste of time. Wish Ableton would just have a decent controller. IL Remote for FL is not great and hasn’t been updated in years but it at least works.
