Scam app

Not the app you're looking for. Fake and a scam

Charges you for a subscription

I downloaded this thinking it would be a nice alternative to leaving Facebook and exiting the buy nothing group. Only to find out it was going to charge me $29.99 for the year. But I did get a one week free subscription. I’m done. I’m not bothering with this.. This is supposed to be something free or I can either get rid of things or get other things for free. Remember free?

Scam?

Ok I live in SWFL but was shown things cross country and no way to enter in a city.. what use is that? Also every item you view if you are interested is hit with an ad. So the app also prompts you to pay to use it but if you do not agree then it’s free?

Apparently the app runs off of ads but you need to sign up for 3.99 a MONTH??? The location of each item is so ambiguous you will never know if anything is even near you cause yeah you’re in FL but that item is probably on the other end of the state. Waste of space.

WAY TO MANY ADDS

As said in title - WAY TO MANY ADDS- EVERY TIME I CLICK ON A LISTING REVOLUT WANT TO SPEAK TO ME

Scam or poorly designed

I recently downloaded this app and purchased the free trial. I was immediately charged £3.99 and the subscription failed to implement in the app so I am still unable to message sellers despite having paid the fee. There is no customer service or help button. I managed to find a contact email and have emailed explaining the situation but received no response or support. I’m very disappointed as I was looking forward to using this app.

Not actually Freecycle?

Looks it's just 'freecycling' the name for downloads. Nothing I've added appears on the actual Freecycle website, and the account I created doesn't work there either.

Not free?

You have to watch adds (20 of them) to get 20 credits to message someone ! Or you can PAY ? Why is it called free cycle ? Only wanted some cardboard boxes.

Annoying Ads

One would have to watch like 20 ads before he can communicate to the owner 😒

Can’t log in

Unfortunately the FreeCycle login created on the laptop using Chrome will not work in this app. Creating a new account using this app would defeat the whole purpose.

Over billing

Even though you have subscribe it still shows ads and ask you to subscribe over and over. Kinda looks fishy

The worst app ever

I downloaded this app and after five minutes I deleted it… not only do you need to pay for the ability to even talk to someone about the product but it has an endless ads. Also to get things to speak to them you have to watch ads. If I could give this no stars I would

F this

This used to be a great app but they have ruined it with add and pay to use

Not freecycle.org

This app shares a name with a reputable site freecycle.org. They are not related to each other.

This App is a Scam

Don’t get this app confused with the official website that is reputable called freecycle.org who does not have an app. This app is totally different organization and they want you to watch over 20+ minutes of ads just to see one listing. Protect yourself.

Do not use

Do not use. Nothing to do with Freecycle.org

Not worth the data

It’s been years since I used this platform, and downloading it today reminded why i stopped using it. Terrible.

Sadly, this is an awful app

I’ve recently downloaded this as I have a new bed frame coming soon, and my current bed frame is still in good condition so a friend recommended I give it away via Freecycle.

When I tried to create a user account, I was gobsmacked at how poor this app is. Location (as in council area) is one of the mandatory fields, but the app doesn’t list my borough, and it doesn’t let you type it in manually either, so I’ve had to choose a neighbouring borough. The list from which I had to choose is ludicrous - the boroughs, districts, city council areas that are in the list are all haphazardly mixed up - there’s no order to the list, not even basic alphabetical order!

I soldiered through and created an account, albeit one with an incorrect location for me. And then I tried to view a few listings to see what sort of thing I should write about my bed frame. The reason I say I tried to view them is because sadly I was unsuccessful, owing to the fact that when I tried to view a listing, I got a full-screen pop-up advertisement instead. And there was no way to close the advertisement, so I had to close the whole app!

Anyway, after three attempts, I’ve given up. Clearly Freecycle doesn’t want me to use it.

I simply couldn’t engineer an app that was better designed to put people off using it than this one. There are a lot of poor apps out there, but so far this is the single worst app I’ve ever tried to use.

Clearly has major problems

Just getting adverts unrelated to freecycle.

Terrible

Don’t waste your time. Premium needed unless you want to gamify ur way to get credits in order to be able to message people. Stupid and terrible app

This is NOT freecycle

I dunno what this is, but this is a totally different site to Freecycle online that I’ve used for a long time. Don’t use
