Local Universe

Tired of ratings and reviews on a map app? There is another way to get to know a neighborhood. Local Universe guides you to the shops and stories that the people living on Ganghwa Island keep to themselves. Even a first-time visitor can walk in with the app and start a conversation with the owner. The day you spend on Ganghwa Island becomes part of the island's story. - Today's Adventure Spin the dial to pick today's role, and an episode made for that role opens up. Every visit to Ganghwa can be a different adventure. - Episodes Episodes are stories built around themes like Ganghwa's history and its people. Single missions are great on their own, but if you want to explore Ganghwa Island by following a story, start here. Each mission comes with the shop's own story and step-by-step guidance, so even a first visit feels easy. - Mission Map Tap a marker on the map to see the mission and the shop's story at that place. - Moments We Met When you arrive and complete a mission, leave a photo and a one-line diary. You'll also find the records other travelers left at the same place. - Mission History Everything you record stacks up into your own travel log of Ganghwa. Local Universe is run by Cooperative Cheongpung, which connects the small shops, places, and people of Ganghwa Island. This service was developed with support from the Kakao Impact Foundation and contributions from the Tech for Impact community.
