What's New in LockPact

1.4

October 23, 2026

No more sign-in wall. Open the app and start locking apps right away — Sign in with Apple only shows up when you actually need it: inviting or joining a partner, buying a Willpower Waiver, or saving your first schedule. Schedules are here. Set a recurring lock window once — weeknights, study hours, whatever holds you — and it locks and unlocks itself from then on. Unpaired, it works like your existing Solo Lock, just on a timer. Paired, your partner holds the key exactly like they already do. Partner approval is always free and always first — a waiver never overrides a "no."

Bug Report

I noticed a bug: if you set a limit yourself, e.g. 8 hours, and then receive a request from your partner for e.g. 1 hour, the original 8 hours get overwritten instead of being added together, which is what I would have expected.

I'd also love to be able to make pacts with more than one other person, so groups of more than two. It would be really fun if I could receive lots of requests to block hours and have them keep adding up on my phone.

Other than that, great app! With these features, I think it would be a lot of fun to use with friends.

Finally solved my screen time issue!

Absolutely the best.

It’s really great but…

The app is great but the other person can just uninstall the app to access their locked apps without you getting notified of it. If they can add a feature that tells you if the other person uninstalls the app or maybe a feature where it will dissolve the pact if you uninstall up, thus notifying the other person of that. If a feature like that was added then I’d change my rating to 5 stars.

Response from developer

Thank you for the review — glad it's working well for you. We hear you on this one. Unfortunately iOS doesn't provide a method for an app to know when it's been deleted, so there's currently no reliable way for us to detect an uninstall — which rules out both alerting your partner and automatically ending the pact. It's a system-level restriction, and there's no clear path around it today. We'll continue to watch for changes and explore other approaches.

Yes, LockPact contains advertisements. One ad plays before an unlock request is sent, which is intended to add friction to the unlocking process.

Is LockPact free to use?

Yes, the core accountability features of LockPact are free and will remain so forever. This includes pairing, selecting apps to lock, sending/receiving unlock requests, and bypass notifications.

What devices does LockPact support?

LockPact is currently supported on iPhone devices. The app uses the Screen Time API, which is specific to iOS.

How is my privacy protected with LockPact?

Your screen time data never leaves your device. LockPact only syncs lock status and unlock requests, not your app usage details. Screen Time API data is processed on-device only.

What is the age rating for LockPact?

LockPact has an age rating of 12+. This is suitable for users aged 12 and older.

How often is LockPact updated?
