About
Longview Chess is a modern twist on the classic game. Instead of planning only one move at a time, each player plans a short sequence of moves in advance.
Once both players—human or computer—have finished planning, their queued moves play out in alternating order: White’s first move, Black’s first move, White’s second move, Black’s second move, and so on.
How well can you anticipate not only your opponent’s next move, but the whole sequence that follows?
Features:
• Plan between one and five moves at a time
• Challenge another player online using Apple Game Center
• Play against another person or the computer
• Choose from Easy, Medium, and Hard computer opponents
• Play locally on iPhone or iPad
• Familiar chess pieces and legal moves, with Longview’s additional king-capture victory condition
Personal note: I’ve had this idea in my head for years, and I’m thrilled to have finally brought it to life. I hope you enjoy my twist on chess—and have fun taking the long view!
