A field crew now gets its own tab bar. Signing in on a crew account opens Home, Schedule, Reports and More instead of the office bar, and one switch in More brings every menu item back. Your week shows a card for each day with the project, crew, meet time, access point and foreman's number, and says "No assignment" on a free day. You can file your availability from the phone, and it says plainly when there is no cutoff. The vehicle, teammate and expense-category pickers on a report now list your firm's own rosters. The photographs you take on a report can now be seen. A report used to carry your photographs as a number — no thumbnail, no way to open one, no way to remove one. Each report now shows a strip of thumbnails. Tap one to open it full screen, remove one with the x on its corner. A photograph taken with no signal appears straight away, marked "Waiting" until it reaches the office. You can also archive a whole report you filed by mistake. A report you save with no signal now appears in your list. Saving in a dead zone kept the work on the phone, but nothing on the reports screen showed it existed, so a saved report looked like a lost one. One waiting to be sent is now drawn at the top of the list, named by its questionnaire, and tapping it carries on with the same report instead of starting a second copy. The Field reports row no longer disappears in a dead zone. With no signal the More screen used to lose the rows for every module, so the app looked emptied out just when you needed it. It now remembers what your account may use and keeps your rows on screen, even on a cold start with no network. A module your account does not have stays hidden. A report you type with no signal can now be kept. Backing out of a report you had typed into used to offer two choices, Keep editing or Discard. Neither of them saved anything, so the only way out of the screen was the one that threw the work away. Backing out now offers a third choice, "Save on this phone", and that is the highlighted button. It puts the report on the phone the same way the Save button does, and it only leaves the screen once the work is actually kept. After you have saved, backing out asks you nothing at all. Opening a report in a dead zone no longer spins without end either. The questionnaire that describes the report is now kept on the phone, so a report you had opened while online opens from its saved copy. When there is genuinely nothing saved to show, the app says you are offline instead of spinning, and Try again works once the signal is back. Your field reports open with no signal. An earlier version kept each report you opened on the phone, so it could be read without a connection. What it did not keep was the LIST — so after closing and reopening the app in a dead zone, the reports screen showed a network error and there was nothing on it to tap. The saved reports were there; you could not get to them. The list of your reports is now kept on the phone too. With no connection it opens from that saved copy, marked "Saved list" along with how old it is, so you always know whether what you are looking at is current. Tapping a report you had already opened while online opens its saved copy the same way. One honest limit: a report you have never opened on this phone was never saved to it, so opening that one still needs a connection. The app says so plainly rather than showing you a blank report. Capturing a location with no signal keeps looking for up to 90 seconds instead of 12, and while it does you see a countdown, the best accuracy reached so far, and a button that ends the search and keeps whatever position it has already found. On a phone with a signal nothing changes: the location is found in under a second and you never see the search at all. If the only position your phone remembers is too old to trust, the app says so and asks you to try again, rather than quietly filing your report at the last place you had a fix.
