Apple is complicit
Apple iOS is as bad as (if not, worse) than Google browsers. I’m writing this review before I throw my phone in the trash. I’m kidding, at least for now, but this is the first app I’ve seen demonstrate to a great extent the variables apps can use to build a fingerprint. It’d be cool to see some recommendations as to how we can potentially reduce the surface that apps are able to access, if possible, and maybe a demonstration of (opt-in) fingerprinting via Firebase (crashlytics?) and the despicable persistent keychain data that can’t be deleted that apps use to fingerprint. Looking forward to future updates!

Helpful
Really glad I found this app. Such a useful resource
Eye opening!
When they told me that any app could see exactly when my phone was activated, write down to the second, it helped me comprehend how easy it is for them to identify me and track me. I mean, how many of my exact model of phone were activated at the exact second I activated my phone? This app is really starting to make me aware that I need to take steps to protect my privacy.

Good !
👍👍👍
Informative. Brilliantly Simplistic
Yeah “fingerprinting” is a form of identifying and tracking you digitally, exploiting your information and you online. But how exactly? By what means? And how do you measure that?
No better way to explain than demonstrate than by picking up your very own, go to, most used “computer” — your iPhone. Let Loupe do the walking. You can’t help but watch and learn. It’s personal. It’s your device.
Excellent demonstration for a reliable lesson in digital tracking but WITHOUT the online exploitation.

Wichtige App!
Best app ever
It informed me of the fact that apps can learn so much about me from a little but of data that i allow them to have. Its so magical really.
Love it
saw this app mentioned on the Hacker News feed and am loving it. awesome
A really brilliant app!
It is truly remarkable how anonymous I thought I was because I was using an Apple device. This app is an eye opener!
Awesome App to help visualise privacy
Great app helps ppl to visualise privacy
Great explanation of how iPhone tracking works
By using data from your iPhone the types of data that can be publicly collected is made much easier to understand.
Privacy Isn’t a Marketing Slogan
We need more apps like Loupe.
This app does something most of Big Tech desperately wants to keep vague: it shows users how much data is being collected, how little control we actually have, and how broken the “privacy-first” marketing really is.
Apple sells a premium story about security, privacy, and trust, yet so much of the ecosystem remains closed, hard to inspect, and nearly impossible for regular users to audit. That lack of transparency is not a feature. It is the problem.
Loupe helps expose what is usually hidden behind polished design and corporate messaging. It makes the uncomfortable reality easier to see: if you want real control, you may have to look outside walled gardens entirely, toward LinuxOS and GrapheneOS alternatives.
That is a shame, especially when people are paying premium prices for devices and platforms that still leave them with limited power and limited oversight.
Sharp, necessary, and eye-opening.

Techlore Was Right
This app is unbelievable. It does exactly what it says giving me an extremely delayed existential crisis about my “privacy”.
One of a kind app!
Let’s see if they keep calling me paranoid after they see this!
awesome app
now why the hell is apple exposing the last erase time on my phone without permission gateway. holy hell.
