About

Luften compares the weather at your address with the temperature in your room and tells you what to do with the window: open it, air the room for a few minutes, or keep it closed. On hot, sunny days it also tells you when to lower or raise your external blinds. OPEN, AIR OR KEEP IT CLOSED When it's cooler outside and your room is warmer than you like, open up. When it's warmer outside, keep it closed. Below 10 °C, Luften suggests airing briefly instead of leaving the window open. Storms, strong gusts, rain, snow and muggy air keep the window shut, and a humid room gets aired when the air outside is drier. The thresholds follow guidance from MeteoSwiss, the German Weather Service, the German Environment Agency and REHVA. BLINDS BEFORE THE HEAT Tell Luften which way your window faces, once, with the compass. It then knows when the sun actually reaches that window and tells you to lower the blinds before the heat gets in, and to raise them once the sun has moved on, after sunset, or when gusts get strong. YOUR HOME SENSORS No sensor needed. With a temperature sensor in the Home app, Luften uses the real reading; a humidity sensor makes the advice better still. THE WHOLE DAY A 24-hour forecast shows the hours where the advice changes, so you can see the cool evening coming. WITHOUT OPENING THE APP • Home Screen widget • Alerts only when the advice changes • An airing timer as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island • A Shortcuts action to keep the room temperature current in the background YOUR COMFORT Set your comfortable room temperature between 18 and 25 °C. Tap any temperature to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. Your Home sensors are read on your device, only while Luften is open. Apple Weather gets the coordinates of the address you save, and nothing goes to the developer.
