About

Your iPhone torch can do far more than on and off. Lumen drives its brightness smoothly — like an instrument. MUSIC • Music Sync — Lumen listens through the microphone and flashes in time with whatever is playing around you: a speaker, a party, a concert. Analysis happens on the device, and nothing is ever recorded. In a quiet room the light simply stays off. LIGHT MODES • Candle — light it with a match or a lighter, watch it flicker, then blow at your phone to put it out. Really blow: the microphone hears you. • Strobe — a party strobe; tap along to the beat and it locks the tempo. • Breathe — guided breathing (Calm, Coherence, Box, 4-7-8). The light leads while gentle haptic taps tell you when to inhale and exhale. • Heartbeat — a slow lub-dub pulse. TOOLS • Morse & SOS — type a message and the light blinks it in real Morse code. • Metronome — a visual click with accented downbeats. • Intervals — workout rounds: green light to work, blue to rest. • Beacon — a slow visibility flash for night rides and walks. Every mode can drive the LED, fill the screen with color, and tap along with haptics. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Microphone audio is analyzed on the device in real time and is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. SAFETY Flashing is capped at 20 Hz, and Lumen shows a photosensitivity warning on first launch.

What's New in Lumen

1.1

July 31, 2026

• Music Sync now stays completely still in a quiet room. The light used to twitch at the room's own noise floor; it now waits for real music and fades in when it arrives. • The "waiting for music" hint no longer flickers. • The candle burns at the bottom of the screen, right by the microphone — blowing it out works much more reliably. It's bigger, too, and lights the room around it. • Lumen now speaks Polish, Russian and Spanish.
