What's New in Lumo Browser
6.0
October 26, 2026
Lumo 6.0 is our biggest update yet: Lumo comes to iPhone for the first time, and the start page, the sidebar and Settings have all been redesigned. NOW ON IPHONE • One Lumo for iPhone and iPad. Lumo Pro bought with the same account works on both. • Pages fill the whole screen, with the top and bottom bars taking the page's own color. The address bar and the back, forward and reload buttons sit at the bottom within reach of your thumb, and rise with the keyboard as you type. • Swipe in from the left edge and the page slides aside under your finger to reveal the sidebar. Swipe across the sidebar to change Spaces; tap the page or pull it back to close. • The assistant, Notes, the Toolkit and translation rise from the bottom, and their text fields stay just above the keyboard. Every tool is in More. • iPhone opens the mobile version of websites and iPad the desktop version. Switch any site from More, on this device only. Sites with a separate mobile address, such as YouTube, Bilibili and Wikipedia, open their desktop page on iPad automatically. IPHONE DUO • Folded, Lumo uses the phone layout; unfold it and the full iPad-style layout appears, with the sidebar, the top toolbar, side panels and two pages side by side. Both open desktop websites. • Folding and unfolding never reloads the page, and the page runs right under the side status bar. A NEW START PAGE • Pure white in light mode, pure black in dark, with Lumo at the center and your search field and favorite sites below. Site icons adapt to light and dark. • An optional moving ASCII background: just a faint grid until something passes by in tiles of characters — fish, spaceships, or two people who pass, look back and walk on hand in hand. Touch it and it responds. Drawn entirely on your device with no network access; adjust or turn it off in Settings. A REDESIGNED SIDEBAR • Color-coded Spaces with an icon of your choice. Switch from the capsule at the top, the bar at the bottom, or by swiping sideways. • Compact one-line tabs: long titles fade out softly and glide into view when a pointer rests on them, with a card showing a page preview. • Swipe a tab to pin or close it, and undo a closed tab. • Clear now closes every open page in the Space, pinned sites' pages included. The pins stay, and one tap undoes it. • A new search button finds tabs, pinned sites, history and commands in one place. • Clearer pinned-site folders, simpler site icons and smoother sidebar scrolling. TWO PAGES SIDE BY SIDE • Drag a tab onto the left or right half of the page area to open two pages side by side, or open a tab or pinned site on the other side directly. • Choose “Show Only This Page” to fill the page area while the other page stays in your tabs. AND MORE • Temporary link previews: touch and hold a link or use its context menu. Close it without adding a tab, or keep it as one. • The AI assistant can answer with charts, tables and cards (turn it on in the assistant's settings). • Frosted glass for Settings and Lumo Pro, with clearer layers as you go deeper into Settings. • The History page reads better on narrow screens, and browsing data can be deleted right there. • Prism is the new default app icon; the original stays available as Classic, with Aqua Glass as another option. Toolbar icons, press feedback and typography are refined throughout. This release also pays tribute to the design explorations that made the sidebar central to browsing.
