Lunar Aspect: Moon Planetarium
Stand on the Moon, watch Earth
About
What's New in Lunar Aspect
1.0.1
September 24, 2026
This update adds sharing, an Earthrise to jump to and a cinematic Earth, gives the whole app a cleaner, redesigned look, and brings a round of fixes for iPhone. ADDED • Share this moment: send a link that opens the same date, place, view, zoom and speed in any browser. The first time, a card explains exactly what will be sent; Copy link sits beside Share. • Earthrise at the limb: a new Jump to that takes you to Mare Orientale, on the edge of the Moon's near side, as Earth rises over the skyline, lifted by the Moon's slow wobble. Try 6 hours a second to watch it climb. • Cinematic mode: enlarge Earth from 1× to 7.5× with a slider. The bigger Earth eclipses the Sun it covers on screen, while readouts and event times stay true to life, and the top bar says "Cinematic mode" while it is on. • Now, at the top of Jump to: back to the present moment, running in real time. • Jump to in the bottom bar, so every event is one tap away without opening a menu. • Faster speeds: 2, 3 and 5 days a second, between 1 day and 1 week. • Show planet names: a switch of its own, separate from the horizon guides. • A Rate button in the info panel. CHANGED • A new name: Lunar Aspect: Moon Planetarium. • A new look: one typeface throughout, with clearer text sizes and colors. • The speed button shows the rate in words (such as "1 week/s") and opens the list of speeds. • Fast forward and rewind step the speed up and down instead of jumping an hour. Pressing the other way slows down first and only reverses at real time, so one tap never flips the clock at full speed. • Places open in the app's own list, and long names wrap instead of being cut off. • The info panel is a card with a title and a close button; tap ? again to close it. • On an upright phone, Place & time and Readouts open without hiding the top bar or the time controls. • The hide buttons sit at the left end of each bar, and the restore buttons appear in exactly the same spot. • Jump to is laid out in pairs, with shorter names. FIXED AND TUNED • The top bar and bottom controls no longer sit under the status bar or the home indicator, upright or on its side. • Every quick tap counts: pressing fast forward rapidly no longer loses presses. • The sunset and sunrise glow no longer shines through the hills. • Labels in the sky are drawn at their proper size on phones. • Place & time no longer scrolls sideways on iPhone. • The privacy policy link is easier to read.
