FORGOTTEN ROVER
The game looks pleasant enough. The surface of Mars and the base habitats are all modeled in simplistic fashion, but the rovers themselves are totally uninspired. So, I guess it’s great that there are several of them. The directional control works to move your rover around but gets glitchy while trying to back up or make accurate turning maneuvers. There is no options menu to fine tune or make adjustments. That said, the challenge in Lunar Rover Challenge is apparently trying to figure out how to collect soil samples without any way to raise, lower, open or close the collection claw on your rover. Until the dev add a method to make that possible, all you can actually do here is drive around wondering why this game was never finished. Two stars for the beginning of what might have been an educational experience for kids.
